Sony NW-E01x

With so many bruhaha on the new NW-A800, people seems to be forgetting the new NW-E01x. Even Atraclife doesn't post this one on the blog (yet).

IMO, these are really sleek. 3 line OLED, clear bass & clear stereo, definitely an improvement from the E00x series. If Sony can sell these with the same pricing as the E00x series (cheaper than iPod nano), these might sell. Of course, there is still sonicstage, but these things are simply sleek.

Unfortunately, Sony might push the A800 instead, and forget the sleeker "low-ender." Not only the A800 is expensive, it even copies the nano odd design choice of having the headphone port on the bottom.

Frankly, I find it ridiculous that Sony now has the 1xx, 7xx & 8xx series flash players.

Of course there are differences, but basically they are all 1-8Gb flashplayers.

Instead of the 1xx a new line of HD-players would have been more logical.

Here in the Netherlands in the shop are a bewildering variety of Sony flashplayers; the other 4xx & 5xx (?) series, the round ones, the beans, the 6xx&7xx etc. Very confusing and it gives Sony a bad name.

Now that you guys mention it, it does look like a lipstick . . . I guess it didn't spring to my mind 'cause I don't use lipstick, but instead use lip balm or lip gloss.

Just wanted to mention that the A800 isn't expensive at all - the CDN press release stated that it would be $169 for 2GB, $229 for 4GB and $299 for 8GB. That's exactly the same price as the nano, and it obviously does more than the nano.

Also, I think the range of flash series players is a bit too much - would have been nice if the s70x series' benefits could have been transported to the a800 series.

If Sony actually advertises these new players, I think they'll do quite well.

I think the price is very nice for the stuffs Sony is providing for the NW-A800 series, especially the headphones which is pretty expensive to what other companies provide.

These will replace the old E00* series and will feature a very VERY similar screen (if im not mistaken) to the current NW-S700 series will should attract people who want a small simple cheap mp3 flash player.

I think you will find that it does infact show album cover art just like the 700 series

Yes. According to Sony UK, the player has color OLED and capable of displaying the album arts.

i wish those screens were on my 507
