OLED on Nw-s705f issue

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

So yeah I got my Nw-s705f violet on woot.com a couple of months ago.

Recently the oled display font changed to blue. It used to be white. I read the sticky stating how OLED does change color as it gets older?

I have VoidFMmp3 on the mp3 and had try charging the mp3 with the usb charger that was meant for my bluetooth headphones. This caused the player to not be able to play most songs ont he mp3 but i fixed it but re entering the songs. Would this have any effect on the OLED screen?

Is there any program or fix that can change the font back to white? The white was much more clear and brighter then this blue.

Hmm... that's so odd, because I bought my NW-S706F on release date, something like October 2006, and I don't have any issue with my OLED.

Did your OLED happen to have a direct contact with any liquid?

uhmm maybe u can try the reset button on the 705's back, it wont make any changes to ur setting nor delete any songs.

If the reset doesnt help, u might need to contact sony. do the ones from woot come with warranty?

p.s. the OLED wont turn into another colour that quick under normal circumstances

I reseted it a couple of times and it hasn't done anything.

I have used the live online chat for sony support, and they weren't much help. They sent me a trouble shoot site which tells me to send it back for repair. Would calling them be any differnt?

It definitely looks like there is a hardware issue, if I were you I'd send it back to get repaired. If it's in warranty, you have nothing to lose really.

As stated about the OLED display on your NW-S705F is defective. Only one colour channel is working that is why it is blue. This definitely is something that should be replaced not repaired.
