Yes the NW-A800 series is compatible with the BCR-NWU3 cradle. You should use the stand that came with the NW-A808, but you do not need it. The great thing about this stand is that you can use it to charge the NW-A800 without the use of your computer, or can charge it with your computer.

I am using the stand with both the NW-S706 and NW-A808.

The BCR-NWU3 supports any Network Walkman with a WM-Port.

Is the port on the NWA1200 a WM-PORT??

Unfortunately not, it has it's own proprietory connection.

I thouught it might have been to much to wish for. Never mind, I'll add the leads to my ever growing pile of proprietory cables. Why cant manufacturer's stick to standard usb leads A & B. I have a sony camera with a lead that looks like a wiring harness from a car!!

Yes in an ideal world that would be perfect, however the standard USB leads restrict the design of future electronic devices. I would agree with too many prosperity cables. There should be various standards for USB standards. I have one with two A and two B cables.

I thought Sony's decision to have BCR-NWU3 support both NW-S700/600 and NW-A800 was a pleasant surprise. I hope BCR-NWU3 will continue to be compatible with future Walkmans, since the cradle isn't really cheap. But I miss the cool light that BCR-NWU1 (I hope the name is correct, the one supported NW-A1000 series) had.

Since the introduction of Ipods, Sony stopped supplying cradle with Walkman out of the box to keep the price low... sigh... sort of missing good old MD days.

Oh, and what's up with not supplying Walkman trademark soft bag?!? I can't even buy one now days... only leather ones. I believe the last model to supply soft bag was NW-E400 series, which I am still using for my NW-S706F.
