Ascariss
source http://www.pmptoday.com/Next week Apple is going to reveal the new iPod and it’s going to be a Nano successor. Apple invited jopurnalists to an event on August 7, which we assume would be the official press statement. The known details are these: it will play video at 320 x 240 pixels(the UI leak would’ve given you an accurate idea about what to expect if it was still online), 4GB and 8GB models ($299 and $399), 2-inch screen and new colors will be available. Looks pretty exciting, and word is it’s going to be dubed “Nano Touch”.[9to5mac, via generationmp3]interesting to see that its still 8 and 4 gig models, with no 2 gig model being sold. I guess the rumoured 16 gig nano is not going to be sold or even made? unless it will come later. if the 8 gig capacity is true, good times may be ahead for us sony fans. now if only sony got off their behinds and introed something already. Zizone_
It is very disturbing that Sony USA haven't introduced NW-A800 series yet, which had clear advantage over Nano in many ways: video playback, design, the sound quality and great supplied headphones. I bet Sony USA knows more about Ipods than their Walkman line-ups.

juli_
Didn't some guy on another forum say he picked up a A806 in New York!Nice one Sherlock - I also remember someone saying they'd got one from NY and I commented that I didn't think it was available there. Something I don't understand is why Sony would assume UK people might want the 8xx but not those in the US. I can understand it not being released somewhere like Moldavia for example, but they must know people in the US want it. I don't think it was released in Australia either, or if it was - the price was a lot steeper Edited August 2, 2007 by juli

I feel if Sony US did release the a800 series, backed with good promotion to boot, they'd see a substancial profit.
Zizone_
Thing about Sony in U.S. is that... they never promote their products... yet they manage to sell a lot of their key products (e.g. TVs, digital cameras). But promoting their products surely can't hurt their sale. Edited August 2, 2007 by Zizone

Old skool D
T be honest, I think we give too much attention to Apple. yep they have the no. 1 product on the market, fair play to them. BUT I like many on here prefer something different, namely Sony. I have no interest in the new nano. I'm content with what I've got. (Saying that I'm contemplating getting the A808 Edited August 23, 2007 by Old skool D
