what atrac bitratemost commonley used by everyone

if i transfer my albums onto my nwa806 as standard mp3 i get only 25 albums on but ive just got 25 albums on with still 3gb of space left using

atrac 64 kb . what bitrate would you recommend or is the most commonly use bitrate on here .

mrgee, you need to decide which bitrate sounds good enough to your own ears. I don't think there is a 'commonly-used' bitrate, mainly because people use whatever suits them regarding space, sound quality etc.

If you're happy with 64kbps, then use it. You can try encoding some songs at various bitrates and then pick the one that suits you best.

I have various bitrates for my music, 256 for instrumental stuff, 192 for vocals, but you should just pick what sounds good to your own ears.

I couldn't have put it better myself. I use 128 Kbps, which sounds good to me.

132kbps using Atrac, for mp3 no less than 192kbps....

132kbps Atrac3 - sounds fine, plus has that gapless advantage over MP3.
