Paolo_
Hey, i'm in need of new headphones... I really dont wanna get ear buds because they are starting to hurt my ears. I need a pair that can fit comfortably on my ears and stay, behind my head preferably, but still have great sound. My MD Player is a MZ-N505 Type R, and the common type of music i listen to is Hip Hop, R&B, and Rap. If you guys have any recomendations, please help me out, thanks

Paolo_
I have gotten a Sony MDR-G52LP and for a backup i have a RCA 250 which leaked alot of sounds... lol, not good for class.
anodize*skyther
urm imped of 24 ohms isn't good for an md... more like for pc use md phones should be 8 or 16 ohms
BJ
I love my Radio Shack Pro35 phones (made by Koss, of course). If you have access to a Radio Shack, check 'em out. They're about $40, but sometimes go on sale for half off, which is a steal. Rich bass, crisp highs, and they can handle some serious volume. Guest Anonymous
Here is a good pair of ear buds with different plugs to adjust to your ear. These are slightly more expensive than what you are looking for, but the sound should be inpresive and quite responsive. Musicians know music, there are 3 different models shown (link below) withe the most expensive set being actuall sound monitors that all the Big Bands use onstage to block out background sound and other bandmates.........anywho here they are http://www.shure.com/earphones/eseries_comparison.asp
Guest Anonymous
Sennheiser PX100 might be a good choice for you. Good sound quality, very portable. You could also consider the Sennheiser PX200. The PX100's have better sound quality, but they offer less in the way of isolation from outside noises....they also leak more sound than the PX200's, as they're not sealed. Personally, I chose the PX200's, as I spend a lot of time in the library or in loud places, and I needed something that won't leak sound or be overwhelmed by environmental sounds. I don't find them too difficult to drive with my MZ-N505. Actually, I rarely turn the volume far past the halfway mark. This is probably b/c they are sealed quite well, so environmental noises don't interfere with my music. If you want somethng REALLY cheap, I'd go with some Koss Porta Pro's and avoid Sony's headphones at all costs. If you're willing to go all out, you should try these: Etymotic 4R-S Etymotic 4R-P (the low impedence version of the above) Etymotic ER-6 (the "budget" version) If you really want some good advice on headphones, you should check out these forums: Head-Fi and Headwize
Guest Anonymous
d'oh....Koss Porta Pro's aren't REALLY cheap....but I can't edit my post. I was just going to say that I prefer Koss's cheap headphones to Sony. ^.^
Guest Anonymous
urm imped of 24 ohms isn't good for an md... more like for pc use md phones should be 8 or 16 ohmsWhy? See, I bought the Sony MDR V600 with the following spec: # Driver Unit: 40mm diameter with copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil and neodymium magnet # Impedance: 45 ohms # Sensitivity: 106dB/mW # Frequency Response: 5Hz - 30kHz Rated Power: 500mW # Maximum Power Handling Capacity: 1,000mW The reasons I pick the above are: - sony said it is a portable audio headphone - The battery power last long enough for me during a 2.5 hr. usage, I recharge it afterwards - the unit (ear piece) is designed to "fold in" to the round part of the headphone, so it is clearly designed for travelling or walking And I was using the above for the 610 as well as portable CD player. So, I like to hear what you guys think of this headphone for portable minidisc and portable CD player use. I also plan to use this w/ the upcoming NH1. Christopher
Sure they will. It's easily viewable outside through the index [since it's the last replied], and once someone goes to the forum. If anyone is looking at the 'phones forum, this is the top post. Plus, if users press "view posts since last visit", they'll most likely come across this post. Also, if they have e-mail notification for this post, they'll see that too. But the e-mail thing isn't valid to guests, of course.. Speaking of, you should register!

Leland
I recommend Grado SR60's. For the price, the blow away any koss or sony phones. Also, check here for expert advice: http://www.headphone.com
Guest Anonymous
odd looking headphone, I'm sure the sound is good, but this is not a portable design. I'm using the MVR 600 at the gym, and I'm happy w/ its folded design. And very good sound, many notes and sound and low freq. sound from Cd and Minidisc that I didn't hear before from my portable MD headphone, I can hear them all in this MVR 600, and I still have 2+ hr. of battery life from the portable player. acp89
I'm using a pair of Philps SBC HP840 with the following specs: Frequency Range: 8-29000 Hz Sensitivity: 105 dB Impendance: 40 Ohm i think they sound great (some may dissagree)...but they fit within your price range as i got them for about $36... Happy Hopping
Well, I got my MDRv600 on boxing week special, only $37, I thin they are regular $90. Excellent for a portable.
