Hello all, I've always been wondering how come 'my' PSP couldn't playback pictures as other LCD/colour screens in the computer for example. It always has this dragging effect like the tailing of the mouse pointer when you scroll fast(it can be set to have stronger or weaker effect...). I tried various video bitrates, but the results were still the same. Sorry, if I'm not very good in describing, but if anyone can understand, please advise!! Thanks

Thanks for the info. It's a very cool device. Personally, I find watching movies on a special device like this one, and even PSP quite interesting, as I'm so used to watching on a computer screen... But, I don't think many would be interested, though Btw, 'imagine' maybe right to some extent. Sometimes good quality DVDs are not availible to some of us, but not the internet. There're very high video and audio bitrate DVDrips out on BitTorrent, eDonkey links. In fact, I just got one from eMule which is the three Jurassic Park films as brand new Superbit(another Sony remaster, haha. Only availble in Japan, I doubt) releases, and the rip included the DTS soundtrack!!! So, for now, I don't watch DVDs anymore, saving some bucks

The PSP compatible conversion in nero vision 2 never worked for me, so I suppose recode 2 won't. I use only pspvideo9.

Are there other languages available in the games sold in Japan, I mean a Japan only game has got only Japanese or Does it have other languages as well.

blue ray is really cooler than HD. but HD is more for home uses. Unless PS3 has got really overwhelming popular games, it'll lose a lot. Besides, there's no need to check for figures, Sony is one of the biggest really, and it's very bureaucratic, they forced us to use MS UMD, etc. That's very obvious and iPod couldn't force you to use its accessories very much. However it's not really a good thing.

Listening through Headphone in line out mode would blast off your ears, hehe. Headphone mode it what u should be using, but when u had the problem which mode were u playing in?

lol. That's why you need the custom EQ settings, in which you can change the way your music sounds drastically(6-band EQ). Your experience is exactly why I hated it, too. So for me, I listen to lot of heavy stuff, songs with heavy riffs, drumming, and bass of course. I just got totally fond with the custom setting, that I think no other EQs would ever match. But that's very personal, as I really love to hear heavy riffs. Maybe you get confused by what I say, as many other EQ functions of players of many brands only offer adjustment on bass, tremble or some stupid presets, so the distorted guitar sound is often neglected. Hope this helps, and by using custom setting in your player you can get good and more natural bass sounding as well.

Well, I think they made a good decision, indeed. Cuz the only reason that I use Sony HDD player is that they have the custom EQ function, and the Digital Preset is useless and it makes no difference from other players, as Sony wants to be like no others, haha. Back to my point, only the custom EQ can satisfy all sounding of music, the digital presets only changes the bass mostly, and it makes it sounds very artificial if you ever listened to the same sound in a costumised EQ setting. For me distorted heavy guitar riffing sound is a must. so I can't live without the custom EQ , and of course it gives great bass as well, just pretty the same way I used to listen from the MD EQ. So, if Sony has really removed V-S and Digital Presets functions , then I see it as the wisest decision Sony made relative to how they make they players.

Field commander is a RTS game I suppose, you check it out at gamespot already. Btw, I also recommand Kingdom of Paradise is you like RPG, Pursuit Force, brand new and would definitely make you feel PSP is worthy,and X-Men II.

Oh, well just get it! There tons of fun and fantastic games coming up soon, such FF, GTA2, and even Field Commander which is maybe like a PSP version of C & C game. I have friends who wouldn't buy because they just look at the games and saw it as too few, but I really think it's well worth the money. Plus hacks and updates to make it play self-encoded full resolution mp4 video(maybe not so fast...), as new MSs are coming out.

Damn, have you guys played Pursuit Force already? It's a difficult game, but it's really one bloody hell of a PSP game. I think it has best graphic and game play experience ever on PSP, no kidding, cuz many popular titles like GTA, SECOM, KOP, all lack in graphic, and some other stuffs. If you don't know by now as an action game lover, you won't want to miss jumping on and off vehicles in slow montion like the focus in Matrix, and shooting at the same time...

Well, I got that pretty often, when the player beeps repeated and stops as the battery runs out. I somehow figure something out, as if I leave it for a while it would SOMETIME start playing again and never run out of power for quite a while!!! Ya, I get the random battery life display as well.

Can the batt for HD3 be replaced?

I just found out that when power suppply is connected to PSP, one can increase the screen brightness to level 3(...press the brightness button 3 times before it goes dark); where as when running on battery there is only level 2 brightness. My PSP is the white unit, which came with a manual that I can't read, so I don't know if this already covered in it. ...And one more thing I found out that was when running on battery, turning off the power does not affect the game that s currently running, there's almost no need to save. Hope this would be helpful.

What do you mean? I only keep ATRAC3plus songs in my NW-HD3, but GYM works fine for me? Btw, GYM is really good, I'm looking forward to the editing function. SS really sucks when making changes in the file info on the HDD player itself. Thanks for the great work!
