  1. Anybody have a non-EU D-NE700 Silver ATRAC CD Walkman (preferably an Australian version, N50 certified) in near-new condition they would like to sell??? I need a backup unit in case my main one (also a silver one) gets stolen or goes out of action, as I use it in my CD/t-shirt "hustle bag" along with my RM-MC33EL silver and MDR-V700DJ. I am a very underground musician who uses this setup to show my talent (so they can listen to my CD) to would-be customers before they buy my CD, and this unit works perfect for my purpose. I am willing to buy one using my PayPal account if anybody has one that meets my wanted criteria, I would be willing to take offers. Please PM me or e-mail me pics of potential candidates. Thanks, Ray Jackson
  2. Will the newer Connects2 units work with ATRAC CD Walkman such as my D-NE700 (and other D-NE series ATRAC CD units), with the newer firmware? The older firmware "Crashed and reset" my HU when playing an audio CD and displayed "track 0, time 0:00", and with no track/album/artist title whenever playing an MP3 or ATRAC CD. I currently own a couple of older interfaces and would like to upgrade them or replace them with the newer ones if upgrade is somehow not possible. The 2 units I DO have, are older versions, including one (in chrome) from (the now-defunct) Connects2USA, an MSC-01, built January 05, and I was wondering, since you live in the UK if you have any heads ups on possible firmware upgrades available for the older modules. If so, please PM me on this board with details. Thanks.
  3. I only wish there was someone here in the U.S. who will pick up where Aardvark Multimedia left off and re-market this unit (known here stateside as the MSC-01) here in the U.S. again. It is a GREAT compliment to my Sony Xplod system and MZ-NH700 Hi-MD Walkman, and is better than FM wireless (or wired) transmitters or the "CK"-based car kits that are supplied with some Walkmans. Despite having to deal with the limitations of the UniLink system, the Connects2 unit is a GOD-SEND for us Hi-MD users (and also NW-HD, and now with later firmware, NW-A series users), and I hope this unit will be re-marketed here soon. I WILL NEVER BOW DOWN at the "Altar of iPod"!!! ATRAC RULES!!!
  4. Anybody have a non-EU D-NE700 Silver ATRAC CD Walkman (preferably an Australian version, N50 certified) in near mint condition they would like to swap for a Blue non-EU version of it in the same condition? I need a backup unit in case my main one gets stolen or goes out of action, as I use it in my CD/t-shirt "hustle bag" along with my RM-MC33EL silver and MDR-V700DJ. I am a very underground musician who uses this setup to show my talent (so they can listen to my CD) to would-be customers before they buy my CD, and this unit works perfect for my purpose. I am willing to trade unit-for-unit, excluding the supplied accessories (RM-MC33L, MDR-E808 earbuds, SonicStage 2.0 CD-ROM, etc.), if anybody has one that meets my wanted criteria, I would be willing to take offers. Please PM me or e-mail me pics of potential candidtes and I will be willing to do the same for my blue unit.
  5. I own TWO non-EU D-NE700 ATRAC CD Walkmans (both from Australia won on eBay), one in silver that I am currently using, and one in blue, which I am willing to swap for a second silver one, and I find it a GREAT companion to my non-EU MZ-NH700 (you get the picture, both 7-level Series), as far as personal entertainment goes. It's just too bad we here stateside had to put up with non-LCD remote-compatible D-NE500/NF600 units as opposed to this beauty, and unlike the D-NE/F800/900 units, I can use either good-old standard replaceable Energizer E2 Lithium (or Titanium) "AA" or NiMH "AA"-style batteries INTERNALLY (in the unit), without having to attach one of those garbage (and inconveinent) external cases!!!
  6. Can anybody help me get a non-EU D-NE700 Silver CD Walkman (preferably near-new if not N.O.S.), to have as a backup unit in case my current unit goes down or (worse!) gets stolen? I am familiar with this unit and its features as I use one in my CD/t-shirt "hustle bag" (I am a musician, and have a self-produced album out, and dig its CD Text and Atrac3Plus features as well as its LCD remote compatibility so I can keep the unit hidden away in one side pocket while having the RM-MC33EL Silver remote branched to a pair of MDR-V700DJ cans for my "try before you buy" setup, as I am a very underground artist (my MySpace Music website is http://www.MySpace.com/BIGHMW and I will soon have MP3s of my music up), and I need to "get the word out" (promote in the hip-hop biz) about my CD "on the road", and to have a backup of this great unit would be great. Anybody willing to trade me a silver one for my near-new blue non-EU D-NE700 that I currently have as my backup? I have all the original equipment (RM-MC33L remote, MDR-E808 cans, Australian AC adapter, etc.) for it already, except for the SonicStage 2.0 CD, as I sold the CD years ago when I upgraded to 3.1 (and soon 4.2 CP).
  7. I own two of these units, one of the (now-defunct) Connects2USA units (MSC-01, purchased through Crutchfield) and one of the U.K. units (ASONWHD001, purchased through auction on eBay UK), and I think they are GREAT units, despite the UniLink-based limitations, and well worth importing here to the states if there are merchants in the UK who are willing to sell them to us here on this side of the Atlantic. I use it with my MZ-NH700 and my MDX-C5970 HU and MDX-65 6 MD changer (identical setups in both my 1999 VW New Beetle GLS and my 1963 VW Transporter Kombi), and I can deal with the limitations of having to set it for "album shuffle" mode if necessary, after all there is an old saying (mostly used in poker), "you have to deal with the cards that are dealt", and in this case, it is the aforementioned units I just described. I just wish that Connects2 (UK Headquarters) would offer the same "direct purchase" option like Connects2USA offered, and, to offer payment via PayPal (I do have a PayPal account), so if I need extra replacement parts like NW HD-to-box or other cables necassary to keep my Connects2 units running for years to come I (and other Connects2 owners) can order them. ONE NOTE: I tried it with my D-NE700 ATRAC CD Walkman to see if it would play CDs in the same way, and found it to sometimes "crash" my unit (reset to factory-default), so we now know it won't work with ATRAC CD or other CD Walkmans, but it operates fine (after setup) with my MZ-NH700 or other Hi-MD/NetMD/MiniDisc Walkman unit as well as the NW-HD series. Why doesn't Sony come out with one of THEIR OWN, since people here in the States can't (unless they are willing to pay $$$ in shipping from the UK or take their chances on eBay UK) get these units domestically, or at least SOMEBODY should offer these great units for sales here in the U.S. ANOTHER NOTE: There are slight cosmetic differences between the U.S. and U.K. units, the U.S. version (MSC-01) is chrome with an extra hole that is taped up, while the U.K. Version (ASONWHD001) is Silver with no extra hole in it, and I prefer these as they look like they are better built than the U.S. ones despite them both coming from the U.K.
