for me this occured in the change from english [us] 3.2 that asked me to initialise my vaio pocket everytime i connected & refused transfer to 3.3 [oceania & mdcf offline ovrer three compouters] where there seems to be no issues at all.

i dont like itunes at all & for me sonicstage hasn't crashed or needed a reinstall since 2.2 unlike itunes. i prefer the hardware by sony, esp. battery life & the vaio pocket screen, prefer battery life over amp power as i only own efficient-ish phones. my ipod has been returned 5 times now in 7 months, my vaio pocket has only ever crashed once & a paperclip reset fixed it without losing the data on the portable. the second last time i returned the ipod it'd crashed whilst connected to my pc, shorted out a usb port, crashed the hard disk on both the pc & the ipod. not much fun there. if i didn't like the atrac sound & the design ethos of sony i'd switch to either an irver u10 or something similar.

it'll be the mp3 itself. i have had a problem like this. where are the mp3s from? what is the bitrate? are they actually mp3 not mp3pro? essentially you'll have to reconvert the mp3 to a more standard bitrate & delete them off you VP as it'd going to recrash it everytime you play them unitl they're fixed.

sony ended it with real iirc. so sony would be the one to write to. real would jump at the chance to stay relevant imo.

leave the openmg but there sonicstage uses them too - in fact you can use your old netmd with ss3.3

kamil, haven't seen you in a while. did you end up buying a pc laptop? sonicstage will work better for you for now with the a1000, at least until the bugs with connect are sorted out. SS3.3 will import on id3 tags & always gets the order right.

have you used an ipod at all greg? the back & screen attract fingerprints like a magnet.

hd5 is no longer on sale in australia from sony. other retailers will have some older stock & hopefully some decent sale prices.

takes three minutes for me no matter how many tunes are added removed. indexing the files & assoc. pictures would be my guess.

can a program like cdex [freeware] see the audio tracks? try it & then rip to either a high bitrate mp3 or wav, then import those files into connect player http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

what happens when you click on 'my library at the top of sonicstage whenyou get this msg? i get a similar one on first screen after the splash when starting SS3.3 but always ignore it.

once it's in 'official' or even proper beta release stage please put up a paypal link for this program - small contributions are deserved from all users imo.
