  1. go to a warez site & get help on installing service packs for pirated windows as we can't help you on that here. when/if you get it working come back for sonicstage help.
  2. in most countries it's illegal to copy from the original source be it cd or purchased downloaded music, fair use does not apply.
  3. can you rip with something like cdex? http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
  4. note using ss3.2 you can choose to import or recovert music without DRM flags. this done the oma/g files can be copied like any other files & then reimported on any target SS installations
  5. you still have to carry the cradle around though. no conection with a computer or digital camera is posible without the cradle

    Reasons to Stay

i dont enjoy either the ipod ui or itunes. itunes is about the worst software i've ever used, worse even than sonicstage. too many pc crashes, no tech support for pcs & no tech support on fan sites either [not like our beknighted little crew] the ipod hardware is well built & has a great headphone amp but the clickwheel & battery life don't do it for me. sony only has my vote because i like the hardware design.
  7. i always thought aibo's are a little wierd but i own 7 of these things http://www.solarbotics.net/BIOBugs/default.htm http://www.amazing.com/david/portfolio/biobugs/
  8. i would have thought, again with no reason for it, that what stops playback on the various dvices is themselves. on the vaio pocket you can transfer non-standard mp3s but they wont playback at all crashing the pocket. so even if you get the omas on they may not playback at all.
  9. they sure are small. the hd5 is minute next to an ipod photo but the shape of these i think lead many internet people to assume these are massive. they sure look like fingerprint magnets. kinda hot although pity it's monochrome.
  10. i know what simple burner does. use cdex or another eac f/end to rip or sonicstage w/out drm for atrac. small capacity flash players imply a 'library' on a computer & a regular turnover of tunes from it both on & off.
  11. 3 months of hard work, engineering and testing PocketMac For PSP means you'll never need a Windows-based PC to sync your crucial data with your PSP and you'll be able to do things with your PSP that PC users just can't. For examples, with every copy of PocketMac for PSP, there is a patent-pending technology that allows for your contacts to be transported to your PSP, a device with no built-in functionality for handling contacts. And this is a feature that's not available on the PC. ppheww. i'd hate to get my shiny isoul dirty. it cost more than it should but it's hermetically sealed.
  12. they have one dinko http://www.css.ap.sony.com/consumer/templa...=Personal+Audio
  13. http://www.siliconpopculture.com/review/109_0_2_0_M/ it's essentially the same as this. requires SS installed but once installed you can use the music mo ve software instead iirc
  14. upgrade to service pack two for XP [four for 2000] & sonicstage 3.2
  15. how does EAC or CDEX cope with the disk?
  16. that happened to me too. i was attepting to listen to an audiobook encoded in mp3pro [which imo is a scam] that reduces audio size by halving the sample rate down to 22khz. the pocket & sonicstage see it as a standard mp3 but attempting playback on the pocket causes a [pocket] crash.
  17. have you installed sonicstage? you can get it from www.connect.com
  18. just cary the case with you in a bag. there's no need to take the power suply as it'll work fine without it. what version of sonicstage are you running? my advice is to run the sonicstage backup tool included in the software. you can just do that or better you could run it then update to 3.2 then reimport the database. there's a trick to do next. reconvert all your atrac files to the same bitrate butmake sure you have the no DRM ticked. this will remove all of the computer specific drm keys from the tracks. you can then search for oma & omg files on the hard drive & back them up as data files anywhere you wish.
  19. what's the diference? larger memory? or just compliant with the connect player 'revolution'?
  20. source for that andrewH? at present sonicstage is branded connect player in many markets.
  21. 'no jacket required' by phil collins http://www.philcollins.co.uk/jacket1a.htm in 256atrac3+
  22. try ripping to the drive sonicstage is installed on. make sure the DRM is not being applied to atrac3 files. you can then store them on the external HDD after transferring them to the player.
  23. the word they use to describe this is style?
  24. the HD5 is significantly smaller too. almost credit card sized.
