You can do it still, actually; just say that you were sent by Minidisc Community Forums.

You did make an important point, Roamer. You still must go into the menu and adjust it accordingly, but that really isn't too cumbersome of a process once you get it down.

It's hard to tell, but it's possible. I have the highest confidence that the ATRAC of old will probably be dumped by this point and we'll be using nothing but the new ATRAC3plus bitrates.

I've just finished looking over the service manual for this unit and it's obvious the operating system is very different from the Minidisc or NW-HD# series, which makes it difficult for us to establish a base of comparison. I believe that it may be impossible to change the sound pressure levels, but I may be wrong. It would be interesting to fiddle with the keys in test mode and see if you can find any settings not mentioned in the manual..

Cool monitor. I almost got this one a while ago but I found a 1905FP from Dell for $275USD and had to bite on it. What kind of graphics card are you using with this, and are you employing DVI?

The RH10's glow in the dark display as Volta has mentioned would be extremely invaluable during nighttime recording..

The only problem I could see with that device is that if you hold the phone near your ear, the mic will rub against the phone and cause disruptions in the recording..you may want to seek a device like the one I suggested to avoid such woes.
