  1. Or even just a good companion to a Hi-MD player, use one of these for playback and Hi-MD for recording in such scenarios.
  2. No, we host it here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=5552 You should still upgrade to SS3.
  3. It would eliminate some of the things that may be causing the issue. I'll need to play with Sonicstage when I get home to see if I notice this. I would also recommend this: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6621
  4. I have no idea how to help you, perhaps try searching for similiar issues we've covered in the past and also try upgrading to Sonicstage 3. You can try this as well: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6621
  5. Try upgrading to Service Pack 2.
  6. The Japanese manual in our Equipment Browser states it is 5mW in Japan, and 4mW in Europe as far as I know.
  7. An idiot? Far from it. http://www.sony.com/SCA/bios/stringer.shtml
  8. Within here: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-S1.html
  9. Actually, it's 4mW in Europe. Read the user manual.
  10. Seems pretty damn fast, a little faster than Firefox without tweaks. Doesn't add any additional bloat to SS as far as I can tell, too.
  11. It's Simple Burner 2, just a slightly more mature version. If you have the desire to make PCM encoded discs from CD's, then it's useful.
  12. Might have to pick up one of those NW-E500's - that "IRL" picture is stunning.
  13. Welcome to the forums. What version of Sonicstage are you using?
  14. Go to Start > Run and type in: regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation\SonicStage\EMD ..and Modify the "HomeURL" to http://forums.minidisc.org and Modify the "Title" to Minidisc Community Forums Close out regedit and then open Sonicstage and click on "Music Source". p.s. Posted this from Sonicstage
  15. Unfortunately, it appears that this unit will not be available until late April due to the deck having write issues with temperatures over 50c.
  16. You'll be fine. Make sure you're using the version of Simple Burner that is linked at the top of the software forum for PCM capability.

    Low Volume

I'd definitely look into other headphones/earphones, regardless. Why not take a peek at our sub-$100 recommended headphone list? http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8592 Anyway, amazon.com. Is that the US or Europe flavor?

Where was the unit purchased? What headphones are you employing?
  19. Welcome, hotsauce. Have you considered Hi-MD?
  20. Thank you, I have corrected the link. Hopefully Stringer won't be a scapegoat for Sony's recent failure. After the infamious "Sony Shock", this company needs to get in line and have a good forecast for the next few years.
  21. The true gem will be whether or not it can remember the live recording mode [manual, automatic] for you. If it doesn't, then nothing really has been accomplished.
  22. Already have one, : http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showforum=74
  23. Try searching, y'all. This has been covered a bajillion times in the past.
