  1. That's correct -- the MZ-RH10 doesn't allow recording in old MDLP modes via the unit; it must be done via Sonicstage or Simple Burner. Is the MZ-RH10 a good choice? Definitely, if you don't need to record MDLP/etc in realtime. Strange how they gave you a loaner unit, is that common practice?
  2. Welcome to the forums, krautio. Yep -- make sure you only upload with Sonicstage 3.2, it allows unlimited uploads.

  4. Here's some more information on Halloween.
  5. Yep, it's just for fun -- you can always go back to the default.
  6. I'm not so sure if it's a screen -- looks like a chip. Could you do some detective work and take a picture for us?
  7. Welcome, D-Wade. Employing a USB hub may also cause this issue. If neither of those options work out, try reinstalling Sonicstage via the directions in the FAQ.
  8. Kenwood and Victor (JVC) of Japan have released another generation of MDLP player-only units. From the Kenwood official press release, it's amusing to see them mention HDD/flash units as a driving force, yet politely justify MD. Are MDLP player-only units simply irresistible?+++ JVC has introduced the XM-C17. [attachmentid=941][attachmentid=942][attachmentid=943] The XM-C17 comes in three color schemes (red, silver, blue) and features a slick looking finish that oozes appeal. Has a seemingly now industry-standard digital amp, and four sound colorations -- energy, crystal, subway, and heartful. As usual, the player is dependent on the NiMH battery as its principal power supply with the AA battery as an external auxiliary supply. Has a 3mw output, and will retail for about 20,000 yen -- which is about $175USD. Battery life: At LP4 and SP mode , playback will last approximately 250 hours and 134 hours respectively. (with both power source: NiMH and AA battery) Size: 75.4 × 82.2 × 16.3mm (w/h/d); Weight: 97g *including battery ---------- Personally, if you've followed me around you know I've always been a Kenwood fanboy, since that faithful Autumn day I got my girlfriend a DMC-S55. I've sold it since, but I'll always favorably remember their sound. Oddly enough, it seems that they've discontinued the higher-class model in this line, as previous generations have had one "upper" (S77, T77, etc) model that usually had esoteric illuminated patterns -- something to that effect. [attachmentid=944][attachmentid=945][attachmentid=946][attachmentid=947] The DMC-V55 comes in four color schemes (silver, lead, blue, black) and wears a very esoteric looking facade. Has a "new" high quality digital amp, and a charging cradle that doubles as a tiny stereo. As usual, the player is dependent on the NiMH battery as its principal power supply with the AA battery as an external auxiliary supply. This unit will probably go for 20,000 yen as well. Battery life: At LP4 and SP mode , playback will last approximately 128 hours and 207 hours respectively. (with both power source: NiMH and AA battery) Size: 72.3 × 78.0 × 16.6mm (w/d/h); Weight: 63.8g *without battery Fortunately, Kenwood also released a better looking "chic" unit, which will most likely sell more effectively. [attachmentid=948][attachmentid=949][attachmentid=950] The DMC-V55 comes in three color schemes (pink, blue, yellow). In contrast to the DMC-V77, the V55 has the old standard digital amp. Should go for a few thousand yen less than the V77. Battery life: Same as DMC-V77 Size: 72.3 × 78.0 × 16.6mm (w/d/h); Weight: 66.6g *without battery -------- It's really disappointing to see strong MD supporters such as Kenwood or Victor to not throw their hat into the Hi-MD ring. Is the industry that torn over Sony's endeavor? This rift really has made the market confusing for newbies.
  9. Also, please make sure all inquries about non-Minidisc devices are directed to our sister forum, ATRACLife Colloquium.
  10. I'm pleased that you folk like it. It is indeed easy on the eyes green, as I discovered this morning -- far different from the blinding colors from the other skins. Nonetheless, this skin will hold us over until Halloween, and by then all of the old skins will be back and look quite different (in a good way). I'll look into purchasing a darkened skin from my usual guy. I've thought about bringing back Rooq.
  11. Perhaps you'll find the perfect threshold and never have an unwanted track mark again.. (yeah right )
  12. Hehe -- MDCF Halloween. If you don't like it, just switch back to the regular theme via the drop-down menu at the lower left.
  13. Within the next two weeks, hopefully. And yeah Volta, I know, I've made some big errors in the past -- hopefully it won't happen again.
  14. Awesome mate, you're gonna love it.
  15. Holy crap -- -- you have a ton of tattoos. That is the biggest navel piercing I've ever seen in my life. How long did it take you to get to that point, and what gauge did you start at?
  16. Very nice find, pata!! The NE-830 looks absolutely stunning in that dark blue color, especially with the brushed metal finish. It's very strange to see MP3 predominantly labeled with ATRAC in smaller letters.
  17. That URL isn't working, boss.
  18. A little late on this one, but a good read nonetheless. From the New York Times: I think this is a fair proposition, simply because the artists deserve a premium considering most of the music put on DAP's are obtained in a manner that is not benefical to the musician in the first place. I'm not stereotyping, but we all know that most music is not obtained legally in this day and age.
  19. Very interesting lamewing; thanks for spending the time to share this with us and for your friend doing some detective work! What music player does he see the most overall? Does he stop by MDCF?
  20. Cool -- I'll check it out. Anyone else? p.s. Editing your profile is a pain in the ass. They really need to do an overhaul to the aesthetics and the way a user can control it.
  21. It probably will, pata. I have merged the other topic with the pinned firmware topic and updated the inital post accordingly.
  22. No problem, and welcome to the forums.
  23. If your password has any sort of symbol in it, the downloads section seems to not be keen on that -- try resetting it. If that doesn't work, just PM me.
