atrain is correct. We need more revenue to support our various endeavors -- including the trip to CES 2006. Premium Members will soon have the ability to ignore even more ads then they do now.

Thank you, but we have a news piece about this arriving shortly. I will edit this reply accordingly with the link to such -- thank you for the note nonetheless.

Of Connect or allofmp3? All of mp3 lets you buy in a plethora of codecs and numerous bitrates.
-
Why even bother? Have you checked out a site called http://www.allofmp3.com ? That is the only place you need to buy music online..
-
We'll be working on it, of course -- stay tuned. Premium Members will get it a full week before others.

Should be fine now. My apologies, and thank you for pointing out the error.

SonicStage 3.3 Arrives -- a Reformed ATRAC is Born
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Software
sxc, I would not be surprised if that ended up being the case. -
You try the other codecs? I always enjoyed your thoughts on codec quality from a new version in comparison to the last.

Thanks for the news guys, but let's continue here: http://www.atraclife.com/index.php?showtopic=365

To the suprise of the staff here and most of the community, Sonicstage 3.3 has been delivered via official Sony resources. The most stable and steadfast download location is at ATRACLife Downloads. You may optionally download it from Sony. New features include: As mentioned before, ATRAC Advanced Lossless has been introduced. There are four bitrates: 256, 132, 128 and 64kbps at normal and high quality settings. When converting from CD to AAL, you can choose from one of those four bitrates. AAL cannot be transferred over to an exising ATRAC device; it will be converted to ATRAC3plus 256kbps. To further expand on the aforementioned *.wma support, a screenshot has been provided: Note: Another nice feature from SonicStage 3.3 is the option to transfer your ATRAC tunes as ATRAC3plus 352kbps to all existing ATRAC3plus capable units - that includes 1st and 2nd generation Hi-MD units and all known ATRAC3plus capable Network Walkman devices, VAIO Pocket and the PSP. The following screen captures depicts the option to use ATRAC3plus 352kbps in the "Transfer Window." "Album Jacket/Cover" view is also a new feature as shown in Device Transfer window*The device used during this transfer was the VAIO Pocket. filenameoptions.doc In addition to a new ATRAC3plus 352kbps bit rate and the advent of the ATRAC Advanced Lossless format, SonicStage 3.3 allows the user to determine ratings of each music track. Very interesting -- is the difference between normal and high discernable? I wonder if it does a second pass of the file, to find the parts that need extra encoding bits (e.g. Nero).
-
Does it take up the same amount of space as the same track actually encoded in Hi-SP?
-
Nice, thank you. I guess I was wrong, but I'm glad I was wrong -- I promise you though, this will be one of the last versions of Sonicstage before Connect Player moves in.

Welcome to the forums. With deep knowledge of the new NW-A3000/1000/etc. I would definitely suggest you wait a few months. I know it may seem unreasonable, but Sony has delivered a truly unique player that is fun to wield. Of course, it will be hard to weigh a very low-priced NW-HD5 vs. a new and expensive NW-A3000 when they are both simultaniously on the market. I wouldn't be worried about stock of the HD5, as they have made quite a few considering it's one of the best selling modern Walkman's to date.

Welcome. Use the MDAC repair tool in the Downloads section.

I echo Ishii's sentiments. It's very unfortunate that we live in a day and age where such heartless actions can occur to those who are completely innocent; my condolences to those afflicted by this.

Halloween is the default skin again, and I lightened up the text to make it a little easier to read. I have also updated the Gallery to v2.0.3.

Despite Sony beating forecasts with 2Q earnings climbing more than 52 percent, they have still projected an overall loss for the FY2005. The PSP sold about 3.75 million units in the second quarter of 2005 -- - 520,000+ in Japan - 1.4 million in North America - 1.83 million in Europe Overall, there are now 14 million PSP units worldwide. As for HDD + Flash-based Memory Portable Audio, Sony has sold about 4.5 million ATRAC devices this year. Not bad! Unfortunately, Sony reports there is a 12.2% (six month) loss in comparison to the same time last year with it's Audio division as a whole -- so far in FY2005 Sony has posted a 247.2 million yen (about $2.15 million USD) sales and operating revenue, compared to 281.6 million yen (about $2.4 million USD) a year ago. ------ For the forum's interest, I have attached *.pdf's of FY 2005 Q2 reports: Earnings Release: Presentation Slides: MZNH900.zip Supplemental Material for Electronics: Here is further introspect from Business Week:

I wish I knew about the Ety's -- I'd love to demo them myself instead of taking a blind plunge and purchasing them. Any Ety users want to speak about how they preform in comparison to the higher-end Sony 'buds? I imagine it's like night and day.. veez, do you have any problems with keeping the buds in your ear? I have problems sometimes keeping the MDR-EX81 on at times. p.s. I updated the inital post with a pic.

Well, for about a month now I've been using my MDR-EX81's with a MZ-NH900 or the NW-HD3. For a very long time, I was very anti-'bud and vowed to never wield one, let alone wear them because I was weary of their effects on your hearing. My opinion has changed greatly -- earbuds may be one of the coolest products I've had the chance to use. I think the principal issue was that I wasn't using them in the right environment -- I realized at work that I can speak on the phone with a headset and have an earbud in the free ear. It works very well, and it's allowed me to really delve back into music again. I think we all take a hiatus from music at one point or another because of obligations, distractions, and so forth; I really was in a rut there for a while. [NW-HD3 with MDR-EX81's wrapped around it] I also enjoy earbuds because they are ultraportable, great sounding, and allow me to wear and remove them steadfast. As the portable audio era continues to bloom we will see greater emphasis on quality of the components within that perhaps one day may come to rival high end home audio systems (maybe in the next ten years). DAP's are becoming so commonplace that it's really necessary for companies to delve into quality because every other aspect of functionality has been conquered. Earbuds also excel in live recording situations for quick monitoring of microphone input -- this was crucial during a recent recording I made with my NH900 at a church. I think that I may try a Etynomics 'bud next year as well.

Try it with a Hi-MD disc.

No friend, what's occuring here is that you're using an user account in Windows XP that has limited permissions. You need to use the Administrator or Owner account in XP when using Sonicstage.
