  1. The only thing that is a waste of time is this incredibly biased discussion -- the fallacious misconceptions, delusions of grandeur (e.g. "No one likes ATRAC"; my thoughts? oh thank you, you must speak for everyone oh god of codecs), and even the anti-japanese sentiment is absurd. The tone of this discussion is not what we consider appropriate here; both jazmaan and silence consistantly come here and post in this manner -- the links I've provided speak volumes as to what their intent is. I welcome discussions of this nature, but look at the way your projecting your thoughts here. I would probably avoid this recording product simply because of the disgusting attitude a few of you have wielded whilst trying to support it.
  2. Welcome to the forums. Do you have Service Pack 2? What kind of anti-virus?
  3. So, to those who actually ordered it when it was that cheap -- did they honor the price?
  4. How about a Hi-MD unit such as the MZ-NH600 or MZ-DH710? I think that either of those would fit within that price range if you look in the right places, and are compatible with your generation of MD and Hi-MD. The NH600 would probably be best as it's a little more friendly with older generation MD.
  5. Thanks mgdimo, I really appreciate it. How've you been?
  6. Sorry about the wait. After consideration, we have chosen migt's entry; the MZ-HAV1 Hi-MD Portable Audio-Video Recorder. He shall get five Hi-MD discs and perhaps some other goodies. I'd like to thank everyone for their great work, as it was a very competitive group! I think alot of the entries were well laid out and had great potential in the real world. migt's entry really fell in line however with the patents I've seen in queue for Hi-MD -- a video recorder, and hence DVR, so this is not really a fantasy model, but at one point near reality.
  7. I think you've been out of the loop, mate. You can upload unlimited times now with Sonicstage 3.2.
  8. Please continue to ask us questions about accessories. We now have information that allows us to answer any question with 100% accuracy.
  9. Yep, we have Sonicstage 3.2 (full installer) here at the Downloads section. Are you sure there's no way for you to put that on a flash drive or something of the sort and take it home? I will send it to you if absolutely necessary, just PM me your information.
  10. Sony should only be contacted when it's offical, please.
  11. Nice. Uhm, duh, it keeps people coming to the site. If I was cut and dry, it wouldn't be very effective news reporting; I want people to be thinking ahead -- speculating, helping this product evolve.. No apologies necessary. To be honest, I think it'd be best if we leave it alone for a little while and allow Sony to strengthen itself again. They said during the recent webcast that more products would come when the money flows again. Who knows.
  12. I live in Maryland..I could snail mail it to you.
  13. One of my favorites from the 2005 Annual Report;
  14. My statements are based on: Reliable sources within Sony that have given me consistant and 100% accurate information in the past; recent documents that have been passed along my way; the blantant obviousness of Sony's direction from not only this presentation, but their Annual Report for 2005 and other various public presentations. Why can't I say something specific? Because what I know is more than I've ever known before and it would be in complete violation of not only my source's trust, but my own personal honor. Things will be much clearer in due time, and as the world changes to accomidate it, so will minidisc.org and its forums.
  15. Obviously, the announcement did NOT come within this webcast. All I can say is that things will be announced very soon. Judging by the focus of the webcast, it should've been very clear as to what Sony's immediate future will be, and I can honestly say I do not see MD in the equation.
  16. Those were slides from the 22nd, not today. It's not over yet. Keep watching, I promise you details will come.
  17. Want to watch it go down? Register and watch here, in Internet Explorer, without pop-ups blocked: http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir_site....item_id=1132175
  18. The official announcement will come between 2:00 - 3:30 EST today; keep an eye on MDCF for the latest news.
  19. There's too many variables for me to list as to why this could be happening. Make sure that the unit is plugged into the computer's USB port, and not a USB hub. ALSO, ONLY PLUG THE UNIT BACK IN WHEN EVERYTHING IS INSTALLED. If it doesn't detect it, we'll go from there.
  20. Follow the directions about reinstalling.
  21. Oops. I'm going to move this to the Software forum, go ahead and read the rules and FAQ there.
  22. Hello there, and welcome! State your system specs according to the rules and also, you may want to try reinstalling via the directions in the FAQ.
  23. Yep, that's right! What bitrate are you going with for your 'rips?
  24. Welcome to the forums. You can learn how to solve this and why it occured, here: http://minidisc.org/manuals/sony/service/info/sony007167.pdf
