  1. I just picked up the NWZ-A7xx model from best buy and turned around and returned it. I didn't like the Rhapsody icon in the menu. More importantly, while the screen is wonderful, Sony went the cheap route on this player. Except for the area where the buttons are located, it is cheap PLASTIC!!!! The A800 and A810 models have sold metal bodies, but not the new ones. I am so disappointed that I turned instantly around and returned it to Besy Buy. This was for my wife, but now I will just get her the A818 model since they both have 8GB of memory. I had hoped to go with the A829 model with 16GB of RAM, heck I even considered on importing the SS-based model. I am so happy I checked this player out at Best Buy. Is anyone else disappointed about this, or am I just a big baby?
  2. I am asking on ebay, $185.00 shipped if someone uses Buy it Now. Othewise it starts at $150.00. The auction doesn't start until later this afternoon (scheduled auction). Thanks. Joe

    DVD Video onto A80x

Simple and fast. 1. Use DVD Decrypter to rip the dvd files to .vob files. 2. Use Videora iPod Converter to convert the .vob files to iPod 320x240 files - Gen 5 iPod. I use the simplified method and it always works for me. The basic default file for the iPod will work on the A818 player. I wasted $13.00 on the Media Manager upgrade to convert videos. DON'T waste your money. Use the above and you are good to go.
  7. 1. inflamed? 2. internet thugging? I will pass on your sales considering your prices are too expensive for my tastes and I really don't care to deal with people who feel it necessary to rely on sarcasm; sarcasm that (at best) should have been kept to a PM.
  8. The A3000 doesn't play WAV files natively...you have to convert them to another format.
  9. Check your PM I guess this guy doesn't want to sell his players considering he doesn't respond to PMs.
  10. I am selling off my ATRAC stuff as well as my video games collections...systems and games. I am offering for sale a Sony PSP Ceramic White model that I brought back from Japan last summer. It has seen about 8 hours of use during the last 9 months simply because I used my Nintendo DS Lite much more (which is also for sale). The PSP is in NEW/MINT condition except for a light 3/4 inch scratch on the metal circle of the rear of the PSP. It got the scratch from being accidentally slid over a mechanical pencil. The PSP was adult owned and kept in a smoke-free home. I also have the original packing materials. Here is a listing of all the extras that come with this sale: 1. Ceramic White Sony PSP - original model 2. Original packing materials and box 3. Sony 8GB Pro Duo memory card (NOT a FAKE - purchased at Best Buy last summer) - includes original packing container. 4. Sony PSP softcase - black 5. Game - Ridge Racer 2 6. Game - Hot Shots Golf 7. Game - Monster Rancher sealed 8. Game - Papaton new 9. Sony PSP battery charger (official charger) 10. Extra Sony battery pack - 2200mAh extended battery (official battery) - holds a full charge. I have a few other games that I am selling individually on ebay, but if you make an offer for them, I can include them in the sale. They are: 1. Tales of Eternia SOLD 2. Disgaea SOLD 3. Jeanne D'arc SOLD 4. Dragoneer's Aria SOLD PM me with bids. I will be happy to provide pictures via email. Joe I went ahead and placed it on ebay ... Item number: 140213445420
  11. Close this thread as I have given up on the A3000 and HD1. Thanks.

    I HAVE to say this!

bump. PLEASE drop the front page, update the thing, or let someone else update it. This site has gone from being a premier Sony site, to...a zombie site that needs to be put out of its misery. Keep the forums, that is fine, but what is the point of the front page other than to make folks think that Sony and its supporters have abandoned them??? Joe
  13. I seriously doubt that considering Sony doesn't even advertise that the PS3 can transfer files to the NWZ series players.
  14. I wonder if the Japanese model of the PS3 still supports the transfer of ATRAC files to the A808...I don't understand Sony's need to remove a feature that wasn't causing any harm, one way or another. Joe
  15. I sold my PS3 about a month ago and back in January I could (and did) use the PS3 to transfer music to my PSP. You were able to trasnfer ATRAC files to devices other than the PSP? The S7xx???? WOW!!! That suprises me, but it doesn't surprise me that Sony removed that ability. When you said you transferred music to the S7xx series....let me understand this....did you transfer as AAC, MP3, or did you actually transfer as ATRAC files? Did you try to transfer with the A80x series??? Joe

    ATRAC - yay or nay?

What will happen to imports in the future if the hardware requires a version of SS that goes beyond version 4.3? I have actually enjoyed using SS once I got it up and running. The lack of japanese language support was the worst part to fix, but now, it performs admirably. I don't think Sony should have dumped ATRAC here in the West, though. They should have done the same thing they did (only more expansive) with the Sony PSP and the new Mylo. You can use drag/drop or you can use SS to transfer MP3, AAC, and ATRAC, ATRACplus. I just get this mentality of having one or the other, when it is obviously easy to provide support for both solutions on a single device. The real problem with the NWZ is its lack of full AAC support, thanks to the limitations of WMP. Sure you can play the files, but you have to transfer them with drag/drop or Sony's Media Manager software (which is worse than SS). BUT, you cannot transfer AAC via WMP, so you are stuck with using multiple solutions to transfer files if you have music in multiple codecs. I fall into this catagory as I prefer ATRAC and AAC and not MP3. I would have been happy if I could still choose to use SS to transfer my files to the NWZ even if I didn't care for ATRAC. Sony's decision to take the choice away from the consumer is almost enough to send me to another company. Add to that their decision to truly separate the rest of the world from Japan in regards to hardware choices just make me....grrrrrrrrr. If I weren't such a Japanophile I would have jumped ship a long time ago.
  17. The EH70 sold on ebay, so that is everything. Please close this thread and thanks to all the honest and caring folks on the board who contacted me. To the others...Meh.
  18. The EH70 is back up for sale at $130.00 shipped. Why? Because the buyer backed out and didn't feel a need to show common courtesy and keep me up to date after stating that a money order was being mailed out - a week ago. I welcome anyone's business, but please only contact me if you are a serious bidder.
  19. The NH3D is sold and shipped. The MC40ELK is sold and shipped. The discs and case are sold and shipped. The EH70 sale is pending.
  20. Wow, I cannot believe that lack of interest on minidisc.org. I have gotten all of my bites off of audio t-board. Has minidisc fallen this badly? I hope not as it is a wonderful format...for the right person. 0
  21. The NH3D is sold. The EH70 is pending. The remote and discs are still currently for sale. Joe
  22. All that is left is the M200 model. Sony has stopped production and research on anything further MD/HiMD. MD/HiMD is now in the same state as DAT, reel-to-reel, etc.
