What have you just done to your computer!

Novell puts our SuSE, but wouldn't those additional features work in any distro? -
...and yet again I must point out that the two batteries I purchased from eBay back in April have been serving me well through numerous charges. I use the batteries in a MZ-NH1 and a MZ-NH3D. I used them in a MZ-EH1 while I owned it as well. I never once had any issues with the two batteries.

Are you refering to the link I posted? It works for me. What error/problem are you getting when you click on it?

The N707 works with the N505. Be careful when hacking any MD model. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...mp;hl=hack+n505

That information is now noted. -

You have to be a nerd to some degree to even be a regular member of an internet forum based on a niche audio format. I wear my nerd badge with pride. -
Happy birthday Greg.

Have you checked to see if the jumpers on the drive are set to make it a slave drive? You might have to change the jumper setting on your existing drive to make it the master. This all assumes that you're connecting both drives on the same IDE channel. -
Correct, you can't put music on an MD in true-SP in any other way than by using an optical or analog cable into your Line-in jack.
-
Just remember that a HiMD can record in MDLP modes too. A NH600D would be a decent choice for a download only unit. A plus side is that it'll let you experiment with HiMD if you want.
-
Using Sonicstage to convert all your MP3s won't be super fast, but it'll work just fine. As for a great unit, I'd suggest a MZ-N510 since it can be had fairly cheaply and it's a nice unit overall.
-
I used to think that the NH600 didn't have a remote port either. Sony's original product info stated that it didn't have one. According to real world user info, it does have a remote port. LINK

My NH600D has a remote port, I use my RM-MC38EL with it all the time.

I've owned the Plug and it was awful. Very bloated bass and veiled mids. The highs were completely overwhelmed. I think that these are terrible phones and not at all worth buying.

Happy bday Jaron. I hope you have a great one.

Carrying case for new RH1 & accessories

I'm with you. That case looks like an excellent choice for a portable field kit. The only thing better would be a large Otterbox with foam inserts. -
I just bought a Sony 6V AC charger meant for the N10 (it'll also work for newer HiMD units that require a 6V adaptor) on eBay for about $10 including shipping. You might want to check on there. The one I bought had never been used.

Have you considered cutting open the sides and inserting some type of plexiglass or other harder material then sewing it back up? Maybe a seam ripper would be handy? -
My prayers are with the survivors and families of the victims.

Congrats Richyhu

I keep all my unused blanks in a drawer and all my used discs in MD booklet cases that hold 48 discs each. Here's a link to one of the ones that I use. LINK

Mine didn't come with the plastic cases.
-
I bought two LIP-4WM batteries on eBay at a significantly lower price. I do not know if they are fakes or just OEM batteries, but they work as well as the batteries that came with my HiMD gear.
-
The MZ-1's battery is almost as large as the RH1. Quite a change in size, capacity, and function over the years.

I like.
