  1. If your TV has the ability to output Headphone or RCA, then you should be able to buy a cable (Mini-to-mini for headphone, RCA to Mini for RCA) and go from there.
  2. I also collect MDs although my collection is rather boring, with just Hello Kitty and TDK Bit Club Specials leading the pack.
  3. If you'd seriously like to donate some money to the admin, you can easily do so. Or just click the links a lot
  4. Just for the record Dej FLAC is compressed, just lossless. Wav is both lossless and uncompressed.
  5. Sony wasn't just looking for a gimmick when they decided to use the UMDs in the PSP. Until the PSP can be hacked into playing the ISOs from the memory sticks, the ISOs will probably be left alone. Could that even work? The Memory sticks are 1 Gb max am I right? Split between 2 512mb drives, could 1 ISO be spread across the 2 and still function?
  6. I'm not dissing your setup at all, however VPC and Sonicstage work terribly together and it's normal for it to go slow, faster computers will go faster.
  7. LP4? Either that, or record some parts in lp4 (the parts that aren't important) and the important parts in lp2, see how that works for you, may or may not work, but the only thing I can think of.
  8. Possibly updating to SS 3.1, the only way to make your transfers faster is a faster computer.
  9. Well if you don't have an iPod then the podcast can't be transfered there. You can just grab the mp3 with SS, and simply Transfer it. Not as seamless as the iPod, but pretty cool.
  10. Very nice outdoors pictures! Congrats on a very nice purchase!
  11. I think I am going to get that MD recorder, although it probably doesn't sound top notch, I am going to try and get it a little cheap. It reminds me of the n505 which I really miss for some reason.
  12. That doesn't seem to work for me.... Why does it have OS specifications?
  13. You got that for 50 bucks? I was look at one and almost picked it up..... For 50 bucks? Hook a brother up!

    Ath-a500

Retardedly large and prone to clicking when walking. The 3D wing setup can click around if not treated like a bird's nest. (gently) Sounds good, super long braided cable is nice, fit nicely unless you have something coming out of your ear (Hoops and such).
  15. The tape drive can record DAT to your computer? Also, if you are a student, the computer/music/film faculty of your school may be able to lend you a DAT deck/portable for 0 dollars or so I know my school has 2 Tascam DAT recorders, as well as a lab full of eMacs with coaxial in external sound cards.

    Sony Mz-n520

If you can get a NF520 and not a 520D , I think it would be a solid investment. I haven't used one in real life, but D suffixes usually mean downloader.
  17. Crutchfield used to carry a wide selection of MD stuff, but looks like no more. You may have to froogle MD stores, or just dig deep. I doubt you will be able to go to Best Buy and get something, but getting a Deck from an American MD e-tailer won't be too hard. From what I gather from the internet, 4x MD-dubs won't sound as nice as real-time. This is caused by the decks ability to only do 4x dubbing in Atrac 4.5 (IIRC), dubbing realtime will yield Atrac Type-R. Both will be SP, but theorectically Type-R will sound better. Personally, for the best results I'd invest in a good CD deck or DVD player with a solid digital out, a MD deck, and a Monster cable (or similar quality) TosLink or coaxial cable.
  18. I still think regardless of price, MD trading is cheap. Since you never lose a disc, you give one and gain one. You come out even, unless you trade a MD2000 with a Maxell. I find MD trades to be very personal, and extremely convinient if you already have a MD player and recorder. Plus it cuts out a step when you are using an MD portable. No need to dub a MD from a CD someone sent you if they could just do it for you. And if you really want to burn someone a copy of it, or want a lossless version, then you just buy the CD and make up a new one.
  19. The Banana Phone gets pretty similar service to my 3595, but deep in the bowels of university, I get nil.
  20. You don't seem to get what a "Mix" is. We usually trade compilations we make, that encorprate flow, fade-ins/outs and even non-stop mixes. Who can make a old fashioned mixtape that spans 4.7 Gb? We aren't here to do mass rip offs of recording companies. Just to share music and have a good time, I still don't see how an archive of music sitting on a stale DVD-r is better than a hand chosen and mixed, with a nice MD that is hand labelled by the trader, with a nice little letter about why they chose each song, and why it means something to them.
  21. My T610 is called the Banana Phone.
  22. I've come here to show off my signature.. tee hee, I love it.

    Helppp !

There are several FAQs, as well as information on the internet. We cannot guide you through every single process of recording minidiscs.
  24. The D pad just wasn't engineered for the abuse we (myself included) put into it.
