  1. Trying my hand at making an electronic/techno type song... I've never been too into alot of that music because most of it sounds (to me anyway) very simplistic and uninteresting. Exceptions for the likes of Aphex Twin or Amon Tobin etc.. So anyway, trying to make a techno-type track to see how it turns out. If it's decent perhaps I'll post it in the gallery.
  2. Yes that is a plus. Forgot about that one because I purchased one for my RH10.
  3. The only feature that the NH1 has that I would want on my RH10 is the time/date stamp.
  4. $299 at SoundProfessionals. Comes with choice of either binaural omnidirectional or cardiod mics. $307.30 total including shipping.
  5. I'd venture a guess that if MiniDisco is getting the black model because it only comes in black then SoundProfessionals will most likely have the black model as well. Comes with a free mic to boot.
  6. Any Hi-MD with a mic-input will give you the ability to upload your recordings to PC. Also, I think all Hi-MD models with mic-in have hi/low sensitivity settings. You should be able to find a reasonably prices 1st gen Hi-MD with mic in on eBay. I'd recommend either the MZ-NH700 or the MZ-NHF800 for starters. Just be sure to download the current version of SonicStage (currently version 4) instead of using the software that comes with the recorder. You will need SonicStage to upload your recordings. 7. Aside from the legacy MD uploading, the only other real advantage I can see is the date/time stamp feature. Though I am sure there probably are a few other good features. I'll have to wait until my RH1 arrives to compare it to my RH10. EDIT: Also apparently the RH1 can actually record in the legacy formats on the unit itself... The RH10 can only record in Hi-MD modes on the unit itself, though the 1st gen Hi-MD models can do both as well, go figure.
  8. As far as I'm aware, the only difference is that the M200 comes with a microphone. The units themselves should be identical and both should have Mac functionality.
  9. If you're in the states, you can pre-order it from SoundProfessionals for $299, plus you get a free mic. First shipments from SoundProfessionals expercted in June.
  10. The RH1 is the newest model, http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-RH1.html
  11. Use SonicStage to upload your recordings to a PC first, then convert your files to wav/flac/etc, drag & drop the resulting files onto your HiMD and then go to town with the Mac...
  12. Bottom of page 75... funny.. I wasn't aware that the RH1 doubles as a rifle.
  13. Yep, they've been taking pre-orders for awhile now. I pre-ordered one as well.
  14. My signature says it all... Courtesy of Last.fm
  15. How many discs are there? The 4-track recorders are the only recorders that can play these back correctly... Perhaps you can find someone with a 4-track recorder that would be willing to mix-down your discs for you? Alternately, you may be able to find a fairly cheap, used 4-track MD recorder on eBay.
  16. I have an RH10 that I would glady trade for your RH1. EDIT: The Mac software that enables music transfer from Mac>Hi-MD should be available this summer from what I understand.
  17. You could use MarC's HiMD Renderer to convert the OMA file that was uploaded to WAV.
  18. Just pre-ordered my MZ-RH1 from SoundProfessionals.
  19. That may have been something I had mentioned because I had it happen once to me with an important recording. I tried it again with a test recording and was able to replicate it, but haven't attempted anything since. Thanks for the tip/non-workaround, workaround thingy.
  20. The version of GoldWave that I use (5.13 I think) has a "File Merger" tool (under "Tools/File Merger") that can combine WAV files.
  21. Does your turntable have a phono/line switch anywhere? It might possibly be under the actual turntable part... lift up the rubber disc and see if theres a hole, if so turn the turntable while looking through the hole and see if theres a switch under there.
  22. The rack-ears of the Tascam MD-350 are removeable.
  23. Quick question, might have been answered already but I didn't catch it whilst skimming these pages.. Is the Legacy (SP/LP2/LP4) upload capability PC only or will it work on a Mac too?
