better than the $160 sony wants...but i got the better deal from the Sony Dude. i paid half of that.

i don't see why it wouldn't work, but before u commit to buy, check out what Sony's return policy is first. it'll save u some headaches should u need to return it. Good Luck...

it shouldn't matter what version of the NH700 u have, the tuner remote should work and it depends on where u r in the US...

the MC39LT remote already has the AM/FM TV weather tuners built into the remote. so no hack is necessary. i bought one from a guy on ebay, for less money than what Sony is asking for. i check ebay first before going the Sony route, the one from ebay works great...he was under the name of "Sony Dude". and it wasn't $160.

sometimes it might not be financially beneficial to send it to Sony...since it's probably out of warranty.

other than the loud noises does the unit work properly? when I had the RH1, i don't recall it making any motor noise...

the battery might be fakes, cuz of it's low price. i have bought some when i had the RH1, but they do work. and I never had a problem with them. if the manual shows u how to take the battery out for disposing of the unit, then i don't see why u can't just put in another battery...

there's a plastic lever on the left side of the minidisc, switch that over to cover the gap. then u should be able to record again.

the first type is no longer in production, the 2nd type they should have them at minidisco.com

u dont need to send them the link as long as u still got the 30 day return guarantee. just ask for a return or ask them to exchange it.

i think amniceguy wants a new MD technology that's has even higher capacity than HiMD as in blu ray can hold 50 gigs.
