I guess Sony didn't want to get the two confused, even though it's still the RH1. Some people might not want the bundled mic with it. So as to differniate it apart from the RH1, they gave it another name, which does make sense.

the mic isn't built into the unit, u can plug it into the Mic in and remove it when u dont want to do any live recording.

with the RH1, u can drag and drop regular computer files...because the RH1 is a removable drive. the only thing is u can't drag and drop music files to it. u need SS to transfer music.

i agree about the in camera stabilization, it's expensive on the lens if it has IS. I have a 350 myself with the stock lens 18-55mm, 28-135IS and the 100mm Macro lens. and a Sigma 28-300mm.

sounds like the recording optical head is dead...can't really say why it fails but stuff like this happens from time to time. and it might not be financially sound to get it repaired.

u can certainly try to sell the accessories, but if it's gonna sell that's another word. sorry about your unit.

bottom line is, it's not gonna happen...

there was a thread here about that...would have to look for it.

i will be holding onto my MD stuff, but i wont invest in any more units.

this has been discussed many of times, it doesn't look like another HiMD model may be coming out....SONY is even shutting down CONNECT.com but no one really knows though.........
