i bought one from ebay from a guy in china too. they work, but they are probably fake though.

is there power in the walkman at all? it's either the walkman itself or the adatper. when i bought the 8 gig version, the walkman wasn't charged up. the other alternative is to see if u can return it

did u connect the included USB cable to the AC adapter? u have to use the included USB cable as the A805's uses a new type of connector called the WM port.

check out ebay. i bought one from the sony dude. the remote was cheap and works great.

i had this unit before, it didnt exhibit any of those behaviors. though mine was brand new.

i agree a mid level HiMD recorder would probably be the better option. unless u can get some sort of estimate first and then decide later if u want to get it fixed.

we actually dont even know if that's what the problem is though....with the laser realignment.
