yes it does, my current PC is a Windows XP Professional with Media Center OS. just plug it in and it should work. as u can see from the third picture, the little red light is ON.

the ferrite cores are used to reduced electrical intereference. I have no clue whether they work or not...but i leave them on because I have no place else to put them.

i guess it's really a hit or miss thing with electronics...that's why most of the time I would buy the extended warranty, but i've lucked out, i only had to use the EW once, and they replaced my creative zen micro, with a new MP3 player.

send it back in...they messed it up and they should fix it, free.

yeah optical cables are pretty cheap these days.

the one i bought weren't 3rd party batteries...they had the same SONY label on it. but yeah, roll the dice and take a chance. actually the first battery the ebay guy sent me was a dud. but they sent me a replacement, free of charge.

obviously they are fakes at such a low low price...how can they afford to sell them so cheap while Sony is charging the full $60 for it?
