  1. Converting to MP3 is compressing all right. Depending on the bitrate you select, your files will be from one tenth, to one fourth of the original wave. Just don't use Sonicstage to create the Mp3s or the CD/DVD. Get another encoder like Lame and the RazorLame frontend, (even MusicMatch will be enough) and use any kind of CD burning application (Like Nero) to create the archive CD or DVD.

  2. It was spam?

    By the way...

"You have a nice site. I have bookmarked it. But it's not easy to remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    *insert odious spam here x20*

God, I hope I never meet the loser who makes those idiot posts. I'd scrub the sidewalks of whichever city he lives in, with his face.

  3. CDA? How? What program are you using? If you are simply dragging and dropping from Windows explorer, all you are transferring are some icons. You MUST use Sonicstage. CDA files are only little marks that tell the CD players where the tracks begin and how long they last.

If you are trying to transfer (Recording is done in real time, like in the old 80's and it's very different from transferring from the computer), you can convert your music files to either Hi-Sp, HI-LP, LP, Atrac 352, or Wav, and move them to the HI-MD with SonicStage. Remember, no drag and drop.

Please tell us how are you transferring or recording the files to the Hi-MD.

  4. lol. i would never use that site just because you are giving them your bank details. If the BPI or whatever has the power to get your details from the bank then you're in trouble. Then again im not sure which is easier to encriminate? someone who downloads the odd song once a week, or someone whos bank details are with Allofmp3. should things go ugly, i wouldnt be surprised if they gave up the details of their members.

Actually no. When you buy credit with them, you do it through a payor who uses Paypal to take payments. So only PP knows your info. It's like using a credit card to buy a gift card. Only the first merchant will know the information.

The RIAA and the BPI can say all they want. Until it's outlawed by the US courts here, I'm buying music there. On lossless quality.

  5. Hi-Md is completely sold out here in Chile, even blanks are out. Customers are complaining and Sony Chile has announced a new shipment in 2 more weeks. Hi-MD units were a HUGE success over here.

Awesome. :ok: I always had an admiration for Chile since I heard the spanish dubs of Garfield and Justice League cartoons. MD being a hit in another country other than Japan? Well, slap me and call me Susan.

Sony has been mediocre in Mexico, and they never marketed MD other than when it first came out. They launched the DH700, but with very little promotion. Why? Their paranoia that Pedro, Juan and Roberto are going to pirate everything and drive them into bankruptcy. Somebody should tell our amigos at Sony that the era of the Mexican Bandito is over. Sorry, I'm rambling.

  6. The four biggest mistakes in future trading

    G'night

Mistake No. 1: Trading with a suspicious seller charging for OEM software in Russia. Seriously, Tovarisch, do you think people are going to send 100 dollars there for a bunch of blank CD-Rs, if any? You give a bad name to all the good russian people who work hard to make a living there.

GOSH EFFING DAMMIT! I HATE YOU, DAMNED SPAMMERS AND YOUR CRAP. NO ONE IS GOING TO GO BUYING YOUR CD-Rs. GET AN HONEST JOB AND A LIFE, YOU POOR LOSERS. NOT EVERYONE IS A MORON LIKE YOU ARE IN YOUR CURSED SPAM WORKSHOPS. GO F*** YOURSELVES!

Sorry, mods. This kind of stupid spam really pisses me off. Bad.

  7. With cheap DVD writers and DVD blanks, I don't see any good reason for lossless codecs anymore, considering the lack of compatiblity and support among software and hardware. This is what I do with my audioCDs.

Erm. 40% more space when archiving, even on DVD? And yes, you can keep gaplessness upon reconstruction.

  8. Besides, there will always be a way to find that info for free. Look at Imagine network. They slashed many of their Magazines (Next Generation, I miss you) and started to charge for the premium info and guides on their sites. Guess what? Didn't take off. Not when there are sites where you can get that info for free, ads and everything notwithstanding. What I'm trying to say, is that companies will end up shooting themselves in the foot.

  9. The fact is the PS3 wipes the floor with the 360. It has more processing power and more GPU power as well, IIRC.

Not challenging you, but can you provide proof? I have yet to see actual gaming footage from the PS3. At this point, all that processing power has become irrelevant. Is the ease of use and what the programmers can squeeze out of it what matters.

  10. You could? But the 360 is only $100 cheaper for it's respective versions, so unless the Wii is going to be less than $100 (and it isn't) then how are you going to manage buying both for the price of a PS3?

I was talking about a core 360 (USD 299.99). And sorry to burst a bubble, but the PS3 is not that much more powerful than the 360. Kojima himself said that MGS4 can be done on the 360 as well. The core PS3 doesn't have HDMI output, so even if you have one of those expensive TVs that can do 1080P, you need the 600 dollar PS3 to use that feature, if available. Supposing the Wii is 300 dollars too, that's where I'm getting both systems for 600.
