  1. Convert to WAV, normalize with the editor of your choice, and import again. Sorry, it's the best option.
  2. Ok. Agreed on the self-imposed restrictions on the Mac for Sony. However, if I was Steve Jobs, I'd be concerned that a little gadget that costs the same as an Ipod, and can record, upload and download and take my product to school, could work flawlessly on my machine. Not that it will happen soon. The I-drones are bound to keep on buying replacements when the batteries go kaput.

Ok. Thanks for the answers. I'll wait until the new ones are up.
  4. If all you doing is recording and uploading, pretty much any unit with a mic input will do. You don't need the RH1 per se. Unless you want to record on SP and then upload that.
  5. There wouldn't be any illegal immigration labor without the demand for it. More on topic: Between the choice of spending money to learn english, or support their families, I think it's pretty obvious what they will go for. Then again, I was able to learn english by watching Star Trek TNG and Disney's Gargoyles. So if I could, I wonder why they can't, either. There's another side of that coin. Take for example one of my neighbors: They came to the US back in the Amnesty of 86. They had kids. The children do speak english like natives, but their parents want them to speak spanish too. Because A: It's going to help them in the future. And B: They don't want them to forget their roots, lest they find themselves without an identity, culturally speaking.

Uh. Yeah. I'm complaining about it. What happened to the other ones? This one seems a bit tacky, and the avatars on the right seem a bit odd. (We read from left to right, remember? ) Will the other skins be uploaded soon? Or what's the reason for the change?

    Windows Warning

AH HA HA HA! Microsoft should also make an update that urges you to click on a link if you are doing drugs or committing a felony, in order to have the authorities process you and modelate you into a good citizen of the world. God. I'm reminded of Demolition Man and their idiot society. Oh man. I have just violated the Verbal Morality Statute. I am being fined with a couple of credits. I'll go get a Rat Burger to wash away the bad tasted. LOL.

    Windows Warning

Boy am I glad I have 2000. With a real key, of course. I'll be willing to bet 5 of the 1GB MDs that someone will hack or disable this within a month, if not because I'd win so easily. You know, I think that it would be more effective if Bill Gates posed on TV with his wife and kids (if any), asking people to please buy real Windows products. And offer a free homemade oatmeal cookie with each purchase. "Windows and cookies. Made with love, from our family to yours."
  9. And soon, you won't be able to play your own recordings. Sony learned this the hard way, and look what happened to MD. *sigh* I still think Al-Qaeda should have chosen another target instead of the WTC. I guess I am off to buy one of the DIVX players that can play video at 720P. No DRM, no AACS, no BS. Fight the power, people. Get DIVX and tell Hollywood to shove it.
  10. British people, don't get mad at me. Mother Theresa goes to heaven, and God greets her. After checking his list, she is admitted into heaven and God places a gold star on her forehead for all her years of service and kindness, and tells her to go look for her friends. In a beautiful garden with children, she recognizes lady Diana. "Princess!" "Mother Theresa! Good to see you made it!" After a lot of talk and exchanges they finally part for a while, while mother Theresa kept on staring at Lady Diana's forehead intentedly. So she goes to talk with God. "Lord. I have a question for you." "Yes?" "Well, I dedicated my life to you, and serving my brothers and sisters down there on Earth, and I don't think that it's fair you put lady Di a bigger star than mine on her forehead." "SSSHHH!" God replies in a hushed tone. "That's not a star. It's the emblem from the Mercedes Benz she crashed with. We haven't been able to pry it off her face!"
  11. Sorry if I sound like a Sony fanboy, but maybe it's not Sony's fault that they can' get their stuff on a Mac? What if Apple is just being not friendly enough? I mean, is it really profitable for Apple that the most direct competitor to their I-pod is fully compatible with their systems, taking into consideration the non-DRM, no questions asked upload of recordings? On the other hand, being able to upload with MD to a Mac, convert to wav or any other format, and use it on an Ipod would be a match made in heaven. And when that happens, man will learn to love his neighbor, and the lion and the lamb will lie down together, and toast will no longer land on the buttered side.
  12. I'd still want the forums to remain separate. It's not like we need people comparing the low quality of PS2s to the reliability of MD and saying it sucks just because its Sony. This forum will last even after mankind has gone extinct from the face of the Earth. And bots will do the posting mimicking our style in order to make it look there are still live members posting.
  13. Hollywood is being paranoid again. I don't know if there's any device that can record component video and take advantage of such high resolution. There are some times I wish terrorists had targeted movie studios instead of the Twin Towers. They would have done all of us a favor. (Not really. I'm just angry at Hollywood)
  14. http://reviews.cnet.com/4531-10921_7-6423704.html?tag=txt If they have it their way, those who bought an HDTV that doesn't support HDMI are basically screwed. Self-defeating if you ask me. Glad to know at least Sony isn't supporting the idea for now. But WB? Weren't they the first proponents of open DVD back when DIVX, they pay-per-play disc format, was available? HYPOCRITES! Low-res on analog outputs... then why would I want to buy a Hi-Def DVD player? I'll be watching DivX-encoded movies until the dust settles down. Bastards.
  15. They also need to reposition Hi-MD as the must-have digital recorder for the semi professional and the discriminating audiophile. Launching a deck right now could be a bit of a risky move. If they don't tell the world about what can be done now with Hi-MD, it will be the same "No one bought any ever" thing again. In other words, let the world taste the honey of what Hi-MD is capable of doing, then flood them with HI-MD drives for their fridges and vacuum cleaners. Patience, young grasshopper. The time will come.
  16. OOoh. Feel free to use my ad, man. It's in the criticisms section. Please!
  17. Go Sony! There's still time for redemption. Woo!
  18. If it makes you feel better, every single bit of audio was recorded using the NH900.
  19. Yes. I'd say it's all the artificial stuff they put in it. Try organic food. (I know there's organic pizza, so look for it) Or try making your own. All that sodium and BHT and starch just can't be good for you, man.
  20. Oh, I'll be glad to ask Danny Manning to review my ad, and give me his unbiased opinion when I argue in front of the judge VS Sony. I don't think it should be much of a problem, though. It's not for profit. Kinda like those fan-made Star Trek or Star Wars videos you see around.
  21. MPEG/MPG file, WMP should be able to handle it. The text in the titles seems a bit cheesy, no big deal. Send me some suggestions. File is 10 MB long, lasts less than a minute. All the audio was recorded using that same NH900. All the video with an Olympus camera recording in quicktime, converted to avi and MPEG later. Oy. Studio 8 was used to edit, and put this baby together. Opinions greatly appreciated. Resolution is 320x240. All this was done using consumer-grade equipment. Now imagine if Sony actually got to it. Clicky here. http://www.mytempdir.com/562306 Didn't want to attach it to the forum, Mods, being a relatively large file. Enjoy and give me your feedback. Syrius.
  22. I'd rather have my MD gear look unique and esoterically elegant, than mass-produced and cheap. So I can live with the fact that them kids will not embrace it.
  23. KA HA HA HA! So all those who thought it was all a conspiracy, were partially right. Just it was the wrong suspect. I'll never look at soap operas the same way. Man... so that's why all of that exists. *whistles in amazement*
