Just to comment I agree. Not complaining, but I went back to Basic X too. Ah, board, sweet board.

You can get a wireless router for the same price that thing costs. And wireless routers have ethernet ports, so the only thing connecting wirelessly would be the DS. It's as easy as setting up a password, and saving the settings. And trust me, once you go wireless, you don't want to go back. If you get that thing, you'll have to keep at least a computer on to connect online to play. With a router, only that and the DS would need to be on. Of course this is not what you want to hear, but ironically, it's the best solution from my point of view.

Try the NH900 if you don't like the first generation. You wont' miss the Mp3 playback capability, though.

The transfer from Hi-MD to wav is digital. Not analog. If what you want is direct MP3 conversion, get Marcnet's Hi-MD Renderer. It can convert your uploaded Oma files to MP3 in a couple of minutes. Recording after uploading on the computer?

Sony won't develop SS for Mac. It'd be too stable and they'd have a hard time implementing crash and error routines.

Hold CTRL while you click on each file, then hit the little X at the bottom after highlighting all the tracks you want to delete.

BEWARE - M-Audio's "Ipod Killer" Fizzles Fatally
Syrius replied to kopfhorer's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Sorry about your troubles. Seems you got a lemon. *Kisses his Nh900* <SMOOCH!> -
Sounds like the little spike that detects the disc's tab has broken. Open your unit's door and look inside. There should be two little spikes on the lower left side of the well.

have i lost my recordings forever?
Syrius replied to aaronzhang's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
How about the Ten Commandments of Hi-MD? Thou shalt not use OMGJukebox anymore. Thou shalt not mess with the HMA files in Windows explorer. Thou shalt not edit the files on the disc prior to uploading. Thou shalt not backup your files without the backup tool. Thou shalt not keep your music in ATRAC format forever. Thou shalt use Hi-MDRenderer. Thou shalt not use the DRM option when importing a file. Thou shalt use lossless formats when archiving. Thou shalt backup those archives. Thou shalt not have FFDShow installed in your system. -
You can format the disc on the unit itself. It if doesn't do it, then it's the recorder that's at fault.

Updated mine to a cartoon dog named Hank. He's a german shep mix, and I <3 sheppies.
-
And when you decompress AND play the lossless file, you restore that quality. Not to argue with you, but by the same token, anyone's ears cannot tell for sure if a bit is missing in a sampled waveform and therefore is not an exact copy of the original.

I guess I'll go tell Xiph.org the bad news. It seems "10 10 10 10 10= 10x5" is not true anymore.

I do find the sound on the Nh900 to be better "textured" than the NHF800. More lively, and punchy. The digital amp does make a difference for me.

Perhaps some of the US/Canada sellers on this page has something you can use. http://electronics.search.ebay.com/remote_...Z1QQsacatZ67850 Good luck.

Sony's Digital Rights Mania finally lands them in court
Syrius replied to Christopher's topic in News
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/17/so...nstaller_peril/ BOO, SONY! BOO! If you are reading this Sony, you can rest assured none of my money will be going towards the purchase of another Sony product for the next five years. Only Microsoft could fall this low, yet, they have somehow amended their ways. You don't deserve my money. (I like my Hi-MD allright, but I bought it used. Heh) -
Sony's Digital Rights Mania finally lands them in court
Syrius replied to Christopher's topic in News
what a bunch of hypocrites and digital sinners. "Let's use someone else's copyrighted code without permission to make sure people don't go making copies without permission of our copyrighted works!" DIGITAL FATWA ON THEM! FATWA! DEATH TO ALL WHO OPPOSE THE CAUSE! Erm.. sorry. I gotta lay off the caffeine. -
PC to HI-MD: Transfer not allowed ! Copy Protection ?
Syrius replied to Nightwish2k3's topic in Minidisc
MP3 cannot be DRMd. If they are variable bitrate, convert them to CBR. Or convert to wav and import, or burn a CD and transfer, just like BobT mentioned. -
Probably never. They think they can make more money with unfair and restrictive practices. Sadists.
-
See if HI-MD renderer will convert them to a non-drm format. I had that happen just once, and I was lucky it did, while SS refused to recognize it. Got lucky.

Levanel, I think the discs that Neo is using are the Maxell Gold ones. They are stil available around the web: http://cgi.ebay.ca/MAXELL-GOLD-MINIDISC-4-...6QQcmdZViewItem
