^^ *Thinks* Hmm.. what could it be?... Transfers to Hi-MD but no playback either?

Risking this to turn onto a religion flame war... God shall judge that government too. And he doesn't want you or her to be stricken dead. Period. Trust me, I know. (not that I fell for another guy or anything, but I just *know* he doesn't want anyone to die like that.) The problem is that religious leaders have forgotten that justice/authority/knowledge/whatever has to go hand in hand with mercy. Case in point: Picture a drug addict, kneeled in the altar, screaming to Jesus for mercy, as he was truly repenting from what he had done to his body. ("Have mercy on me Lord, for I am nothing without you! No more, no more of this! No more!" He begged. Pretty shocking stuff.) No one, and I repeat, no one in the church had approached to comfort him or pray for him in the past, but oooooh... when he was begging for mercy, suddenly we have all the ushers, pastors, and deacons (sp?) come to where he was to tell him "SILENCE!!!"... because they didn't want the bishops of the church to see that. They had to keep their image. Kings of hypocrisy... They wouldn't let even Jesus walk into that church because he'd come with his long hair, and his feet all dusty from walking so much. I tell you, they had forgotten they were drunks, wife-beaters, drug addicts, thieves... shouldn't they have mercy for him, as God had it on them once? I witnessed this with my own eyes. And left that church forever at the next day. And cursed the day I walked in first. (They told him later on to "Go and do his show outside.") &^%$#@! I could give you the address to the First Church of Hypocrisy, but for the sake of avoiding a mod-edit (and for common sense's too) I won't. God is merciful. The church nowadays is not. Thank you, and forgive me if I have added fuel to the fire. Uh.. if I could vote, I'd give Kerry a chance, maybe he can fix this mess. It's been four years of nothing good. I don't understand why Bush *needs* to be reelected to get things straight. He's already in power. Thanks again.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Even though I'm more or less a religious person. For the record. Keep in mind those in power who want to grant homosexuals the right to marry, don't do so because they want to see Adam and Steve walk down the aisle. Nor those who oppose gay marriage do it because they really believe it's wrong, sinful, etc. It's all about the votes.

Sound presets, katakana, fancy playmodes... http://www.minidisc.org/mzr700_to_mzr900.html

Somebody set up a private server. If you own a Dreamcast Codebreaker cheat disc, you can alter some of the settings to connect to such private server.

FFXI? Too bad no one is into Phantasy Star Online. I love that game to death. Congratulations on finding such a cool pad. Too bad the only techhead in my building is me.

Also, an R500 can be hacked to unlock many useful features present on higher-end models. So IMHO, it *IS* worth to get another unit. Good luck.

http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=32263#32263 Just use Marcnet's app, and voila. Instant, Magic Gate-free, untainted Wav for your listening pleasure. I think it also has a way of locating your OMG/OMA files.

help to recover a recording from a minidisc pleaseeeeeee

I also suggest you use both a battery and an AC adapter at the same time, so the unit has a backup source should one get disconnected, when you try the above procedure. -
I thniks so. I had a 330 deck, and it could act as a DAC even without a disc. Simply hit "rec" and that's it. Sony implemented this as a feature to monitor your digital stream without recording. Very smart, I say.

Ok. Let me see if I get it right. You are trying to copy the audio of some DVDs you made, encoded with DD, to your MD via optical cable, right? I suggest you use a regular DVD player, go into the setup menu, and disable DD, or select the optical output to send PCM/Stereo, but *not* DD. (It's very easy when using an Xbox). Some DVD players will output PCM when doing this. I will try with my DVD player and my Sharp Sr 60 tonight, and see if it works. Any MD should be able to take a PCM stream like this all right.

IIRC, the free version of MusicMatch Jukebox will allow you to convert MP3's to wav, or mp3 with another bitrate. Try it, and then import those WAVs or "cooked" mp3's into SonicJunk. Also, I suggest you convert the files before transferring. (Look around in the help file, or ask how to do it) That way you don't force the program to do that much work while transferring.

I saw one or two on EvilBay recently. Just enter a search for "Sony Minidisc" or "minidisc player" and look around. There is no MD player I haven't seen for sale in the Bay at one moment or another. Good luck.

Orbis, can you confirm if it can read CDRWs, please? Thanks.

Guys. Tomorrow a fellow MD-lover and I will conduct several tests regarding true SP, and fake SP to see if we can spot the differences, and where they are. The problem is, I don't know how to make a NetMD player record in fake SP through Sonic Stage. Can someone tell me how? Thanks. EDIT: GAH. Posted it in the wrong forum by mistake. Sorry mods! :wacky: EDIT 2: Never mind. Figured it out. Hmm. This version of SonicStuff seems a bit more friendly.

I think that DD is automatically SCMS-ed. Try using simple stereo sound by disabling DD in your XBox, but keep your optical output on. You can also try ripping the audio from the the DVD to your HDD in wav or MP3 format. Some DVD playing software support that feature natively, or you can google for some utilities that do that. Good luck. EDIT: By doing that, you are not converting to analog. The optical cable transfers a digital signal to your MD, which in turn records it, bit by bit.
-
You know, we *should* start charging Sony for all the tech support that's being provided to fix the problems their bug-ridden software causes. Erm, back on topic. Dave, did you make sure to go into the registry like the SS FAQ states? I didn't do it on my brother's laptop, and was causing him a bit of trouble until I did.
-
And your asking price would be? (Not that I may actually afford it right now, but who knows.)
-
Because burning a CD RW (We don't know if it can read them, I'm sure it can if it's recent enough) and copying that CD to MD at 4X probably will take less than real time recording straight from the computer.
-
I want a deck like that. Which brand and model? And where can I get one?
-
Yes, it will. You will need to have the unit in record-pause, with a disc inside of it. (Which I don't recommend, since it can cause wear on the motor) Sony MD decks have a feature that converts the signal to analog, so you can monitor, without having a disc inside. Darn. I miss my JE 330 deck.

Hi. I have looked all over the site, but can't find a definitive answer. I understand Hi-MD will upload tracks made through the analog input. (PCM, Hi-LP and Hi-SP) . Can you upload tracks made through the optical input in Hi-MD mode? Thanks.

About six years now.

Well, I am surprised to see a mod start this kind of flammable thread. Being a foreigner, I don't have much of a say. I just hope that people do go out and vote, forgetting about those excuses most folks give out for a change. Don't let apathy be the winner, or we may have another of those dimpled-chad fiascos again. Regardless if you like the current administration, or want a change, please go out and vote. Do it for your right to enjoy MD. :rasp: Just my two cents, and thanks for listening.
