quite easily. at the moment there is no comparable recording option in terms of unit price, medium price, portability or battery life for the semi-pro/am market. it could be a flash or hdd recorder comes out & blows himd out of the water & given the technical know-how on this board the superior format would win out imo.

that;s the euro version. as for why not a single international store? copywright is not the same worldwide & which branch of which record labels would collect royalties, distrubute to artists etc. too complicated

atrac lossless is a storage format only. rather than keeping your music files in larger & untagged wav files you can keep them in a perfect [ish] root format to transfer to any device at any bitrate without have to transcode.

track check out data was local kept in an access database on the pc. i'd think that's why there was no uploading because the user rights were on the pc not in the track data on the disc. cd->sp at 4x speed is an analogue recording, more akin to high speed tape dubs rather than a digital transfer. this limitation to me screams 'perfect copy paranoia' than technical limitations.

try a line in recording to see if that's still working.

i actually already have the a500s & the a900s have a lower resistance. none of the audio-technica 'a' series has much up front bass but i like the sound style.

i've owned a set of audio-technica ath-a500s for awhile now & i'm thinking of upgrading. i'm only using them indoors & the size of the audio technica earcups is no problem to me, i like the sound style & the portable friendly driving requiremnts. they will see most usage from my vaio pocket or audigy2 lineout. i'm still considering going all out & buying some w1000s, mostly because they look awesome but may put that on hold a bit longer & buy on of the afore mentioned models as a stopgap. any opinions from owners or former owners would be apreciated.

better than getting a dediated md car unit would be getting one with a line in, then just use a portable, be it minidisc, himd or hdd player.

run windows update until you are right up to current there was a problem with the omgjbox.exe that windows put out a hotfix for but SP2 for xphome should have it in.
