This happened every time for me in SS 2.3, I would have to leave my pc for 1-2 hrs. The problem though for me, seems to have gone ever since upgrading to SS 3.0 :|
-
For me, if I right click the track then go, Existing Playlist, and then click the playlist, it will add the Song to the bottom of the playlist for me... When I imported music in SS 2.3 I use to get exactly the same problem, and I would have to leave my PC for 1-2 hrs before I was able to use SS, and my CPU would be down to a normal running rate... In SS 3.0, I don’t have this problem... I do get a status bar, which also has a bar with status, and a "time left" as well. Last time I imported all my music, it took about 5 mins! So for me, this feature has improved a lot. Don't know why you are getting that problem.

This is strange :| That doesn't happen for me. Shoudl I maybe turn off Group Rec...?? I will try and fiddle around with it a bit. But the manual doesn't say anything about if there is silence, then a new track will be created
-
Ok, I have just read the Manual for the MZ-NH1, and when Time Stamping is enabled, than a time stamp will be created at the designated time interval. In the manual of the MZ-NH1, not at any point does it say that if there is silence, a new track will be created. So when time stamp is on, it will add a time stamp at the time you have specified from 1-60 minutes. And in no instance will it create a new track if there is silence. Damn! Looks like it will be 1 long 3 hr file for me to listen to!

I'll have to read the instruction manual again, to see if that has what I am looking for... I am wanting the MD to create new tracks when it hears silences.... Hopefully it creates the new tracks though when the silences are for new pieces, not soft playing

Ok, I have a MZ-NH1, and am trying to get the auto track thing to work as well. What I want, is that when there MD hears say 2-5 secs of no music, it then starts a new group, so that for a 3 hr concert, with breaks you don’t just get a 3 hr long file. So I go into REC Settings, then Time Mark, and when you turn it on, you have the option to create a Time Stamp for 1-60 mins... But I don't want a new file created every so minutes, because then it could interrupt the piece being played... etc... Is there a thing where you can say, 2 secs of silence, make a new track?

I use Hi-SP, only for the reson that if I am going to be recording a long conert, I want the whole thing to fit onto a 1GB disc. If there were 5GB media about, then I would quickly make the move to PCM

Thanks for that info. The apps arn't using very much memory, just wondering what they were... I didn't mean to create a new thread for this topic sorry, I meant to do it under 1 of the SS 3.0 problems thread :S Sorry. Thanks for your help

After installing SS 3.0 on my Windows XP SP2 PC, there are two new items in the Windows Task Manager. I am just wondering if I need these two programs to start or wether I can stop them from starting. They are SSAAD.exe and SSScsiSV.exe If these aren’t to do with SS then forgive me, but I am pretty sure they are. How should I go about stoping these from running, if I don’t really need them running? Thanks

After installing this program, every time I restarted my computer and signed back in (Windows XP SP2) I would get a pop-up window from anti-spy ware saying would I like it to run in the "try icon background, try icon normal, updating, and one other'. It is extremely annoying! Anyone know how to get rid of this message? Or have the same problem? Atm I have had to uninstall the program

I completley forgot about this feature, and it sure would have come in handy when I recored a 4 hr concert on the weekend! Will be using it from now on

Here are all my MD pics. http://www.users.bigpond.com/sambellp/MiniDisc.htm

Lets hope that it is!

Can I get this straight. I have just recorded a Concert I was playing in, and it went for 4 hrs... I am now uploading the MD recording to my computer, and it seems to be uploading in real time!!!! is this true? Or what? Because it is taking a very long time to upload the tracks to my pc! In addition, what des it mean when it changes from percentage done, to a time? Is the time saying how much it has uploaded, or how much longer the upload will take?
-
Easy solution... Sony, increase the disc size to 5GB, so that everyone is happy!
-
Are you saying all users should do this? or just if you are having that problem?
-
Yeh I noticed the Album thing too! What is with that! You go sort by Album, and it does some extremely strange thing. It sorts it by like artist of the Album, so one of my Albums has 30 different composers, so it goes and has a line of 30 composers under that album, which each artist has 1 track under their name! I'll try and get a screen shot of this for you to see. It is extremely annoying! EDIT** Sorry, looks like I was looking/searching the wrong fields... sorry. And my problem above ^^ seems to have fixed itself over night...

Ahahah mate... as I said previously, the total download for me was just udner 30mb Now all I have to do is wait for SS to update the library which of course is taking its time by the way, how did you find that link? because I went to that web site, and all I could find was the link to download SS 2.3...? Nice! the new SS has a timer which lets you know how much longer it will take to import all your music. I have another 2 hours and 30 minutes left!!!! and I wanna go to bed Will have to stop it well now it say 2hrs... hmmmm 1:50 looking better Opppss.. my bad, it actually ment 2 minutes Just about to finish The process of importing music is a lot quicker for me now

A WARNING TO ALL - after installing SS and restarting my pc (XP SP2) I then logged back on, but it seemed to just freeze on the welcome screen after entering my password in for about 3-4 mins. I then restarted the pc, and signed in with another account with no problems. I then resigned in with my account and after waiting another min at the welcome screen, my desktop showed up, with the SS window saying "UPDATING SS DATABASE LIBRARY" So just letting everyone, to be patient when signing back in after installing it, especially if you have a large library, as I do. 2000+ songs

Well that was good. Clicked Installed, and it said, "retreiving data from interent" waited 30 secs, then said.. no internet connection present :| edit: !!! downloading at 360kb/s here. the download was just under 30mb New drivers, SonicStage Add-ons.. looking good Now have to restart computer. Installing process took about 3-5 mins... downloading the files at 360kb/s took about 2 mins...
