The disc is back!, instead of the covered face Looks good! It is also taking quite a while (30+secs) to reply to posts for me... Edit* After just writing the bottm line above ^^, it submitted the post very quickly... I always reply to threads in the 'Fast Reply' Section... that might be the problem?

Just had a fruit salad with yoghurt on top. Normally have a Milo (for those who don't know what this is it is a energy drink... little bits of choc coloured stuff :S in milk) Atrain will know what I am on about And once, I spilt it all over my new keyboard! :@ Big hassle! Don't normally eat 'dirty, sticky, oily' foods while on the pc, as I dun like the mouse and keys to be all slimy... if you know what I mean My dad will also have a cry if he sees me eating near the PC... quite stupid

I have just noticed the changing graphic in my address bar next to http://forums.minidisc..... Looks good Never seen that before for a web site! Good stuff! Tis funny, because it changes from the M logo, to a face :| ... maybe have a MD or something.. but that might be to hard... looks good but!

I am wanting to buy one of those printers, that prints the text onto the actual CD, and not just a piece of paper that you have to glue on. I recon they would be great! But they are a little expensive here in Australia at the momen I think..

Received an e-mail from Sony yesterday, saying they were having another - 'Open Store' showcasing 'Future Products'.... Replied to the e-mail to say I could attend the following day, and was sent a reply e-mail to let me know too many people have said they were interested! and there is a 160 queue waiting list! ! Shows that many people wanted to go...! Hopefully a couple of them we MD fans, who were able to get in! And will be able to talk to Sony reps about upcoming MD models...

Can we have a figue of the total number of downloads to date? And do you know how many users that have signed up, have JUST used the download section? This place is going to be HUGE! Will be great!

I am pretty sure the forum Admin has uploaded sone skins/backgrounds into the Gallery Section of this web site. Have a look there and also in the Download section. Theses are the icons at the of the forum

Are you saying you want to import MP3's into SS? or you want to Convert ATRAC files to MP3? If you want to import mp3 files into the SS library, then all you need to do is go File, Import Folder... and select the folder... If you want to convert a ATRAC files into mp3, then I strongly suggest using Marc's conversion tool. It is Extremely easy to use, and can be downloaded by clicking the "Download" Icon at the top of this form.

I recon that ain't a bad idea as well. Because he will be beat boxing, there will be 100's of differnt sounds and dynamics coming out of his mouth, and then he can transfer it onto his Sony laptop, and then play it back with some Sony speakers to hear how clear and awesome it all sounds!

That idea, like the 2 above me said, sounds really good and simple! A mic would be a good idea as well, because that differentiates the MD from the iPOD, as not JUST a music player. Good idea Peter!

OH! So these plans for a new page etc.. arn't for us... they are for the other Minidisc Forum.. yeh? I must say, their layout isn't anywhere near as good as this 1 is... Info everywhere...

I find it is just far too clustered. The windows the threads are in, I find too small, I much prefer the present thread layout. The Recent articles.. And all those on the LHS.. Don’t like it how it cuts off the longer thread titles... Can I just ask, because I don't think I have understood 100% the reason why Chris you might do this...? Is it to improve the finding of threads, better site navigation...? Because for me, I am just confused by the layout... maybe too much info on the front page? When I come to MDCF, I straight away click on 'View New Posts' and then I scroll down the page(s) looking for topics which might interest me. I hardly ever go to the Main Page, and click on say... Live Recording, to see all those threads, unless I want to create a new topic. I must say, there are lots of Forums.. i.e. Hi-MD, non MD related, News, Live recording.. and so on.. if there was any way to create less of these.. That might help some people. Hope this helps you out Chris!

AHAHAHAHAHAHA... maybe not Nah kidding Chris! It annoys me a little when big companies such as Sony... and others, use ads made in another country... wouldn't you expect the marketing department to make the ad around customer demands in that certain area... and I doubt everyone would be wanting the same products in completely different geographical locations. The latest iPOD ads to be shown in Sydney, have people rollerblade break dancing, with the flashing colours in the background, and the 'white' chords and ipod in their position. At the very end of the ad, all it says is APPLE. Now because everyone knows what an iPOD is, I think this kind of advertising is fine, because there have been many ads/advertisement boards like this... but for Sony to do something like this, would be suicidal I think. No one knows what a MD is, and be having people/animals using it out of context, and then just SONY, or MD at the end of the ad, no one would know what the ad was about. They need to show people using it together socially, or someone recording themselves practising their music... stuff like that, which people WANT to do. Then show then put it onto the PC, then on a CD (I know it might be a bit misleading how easy it seems to go from MD to PC) and there happy! What do you all think?

Was was an Aussie ad filmed in Brazil? What might help is ifthey have some Australian people using it... or maybe some celebrity or something...?

LOL SAME! Sorry to say Chris, but yeh same for me... I don't really understand the topics on the right of the page.. and the Recent topics... on the left hand side. I much prefer the current look... but that is just my opinion, and I may just have to get use to a new look... but it doesn't attract me at all sorry! Must be something to do with being Aussie but atrain says he likes it.. so maybe not

It did make en electricity kinda sound! There was this constant buzz in my room every time I went to bed it really annoyed me! I took the MD Cord out of the power unit, and the buzz slowly died away :| I hope it didn't do any damage either!

I made the huge mistake of completely forgetting that I have my MZ-NH1 recharging... I have been hearing a high pitched buzz when I go to bed at nights... and 30 mins ago, when I was at my desk, I heard it louder... looked down at the cords, and found it was the MD cord buzzing!! I then realised it had been charging for about 3 days :| ! Turned it on... all seems to be working. Do you think I have done any long/short term damage to the MD/battery?

I think many will agree with me that one of the main problems with MD's in Australia, is just that no-one knows what they are. You ask someone what a good portable music player is, and they all say iPOD, even if they don't have one themselves. I think Sony need to re-think their marketing strategies, and advertising campaigns. I know this is easier said than done, but if Sony really wants to boost the knowledge of their products, then they need to let people know about them. Instead of having silly ads with monkeys, they need to have people using them, transferring tracks... stuff like the break dancing ad, but at the end, I think it would be wise to say what the product actually is. I hope that Sony are a step ahead of me, and already know this stuff!
