  1. I actually quite like them - they look good on my shelf with some custom inserts based on album covers
  2. I got one of those with my Sony PCDP (2002) and it works brilliantly in my NH900, you'll love it!
  3. look at the features, the only real advantages of the RH10 is the fact that it has MP3 playback (because we all need that...) and a bigger screen.
  4. I see someone still bought the RH910..... ;-)
  5. what CAN you have on an RH10? I hear the world and his wife raving about how great they are, but they have absolutely no features compared to the NH900
  6. just a thought thats a bit unrelated.... Assuming the PC you have Sonicstage installed on has an optical out, would it be possible to: 1, Connect a Hi-MD recorder via USB, play it through Sonicstage 2, Record (via digital out....) on a NET MD or Hi-MD recorder? course, it would'nt work for an album with gapless playback because sonicstage sucks.....
  7. right, so the way I read this, if I set 112 to 'CC', my NH900 will display a clock just like my mates NH1? no?
  8. oops!! Sorry mate, I thought they had stores all over the country. The site does say 'free UK mainland delivery', though whether thats over a certain price or not I dont know.... I've been trying to check, but my computer is dying on me, my modem is only running at 20kbps
  9. Practical Hi-Fi stores (www.practicalhifi.co.uk) have them at £4 everywhere
  10. A440 - thanks for the info there, am I right in thinking that binaural cant be played through speakers 'properly'? and I have'nt got a clue how he made it happen with the CD player, his mate did it. I was thinking maybe a hybrid of MD and a computer CD burner? Not sure, cost him £40 though.... and I want one! Greenmachine - what we're planning on doing is a stealth recording of a Zutons/Idlewild/Feeder/REM gig at Lancashire Cricket ground (dont know if that makes a difference compared to an indoor arena/stadium), then transfer the whole lot to CD for playback over loudspeaker. sorry, should of been more clear about that Deadwing - great! a fellow brit! I'm not entirely sure what a volume attenuator is, will I need one for good results? Those mics look fantastic, but unfortunately, personal circumstance means I cant order from eBay. Are Sony mics ok for the job?
  11. Hi, I have an NH900, and my mate has a 'tweaked' ATRAC CD player that can record via a mic in.... what we would like is some advice on which mics are best for stealth recording within a budget of £50-75? thanks in advance!
  12. ......but its huge! its bigger than my NH900.... damn. looks like an NH1 for me then....

    My New Mz-rh910

hmmm.... sorry sony, get on with 3rd gen sharpish
  14. the RH10 is looking more and more like a total piece of shite
  15. Play - only, same size and battery life as the last Auvi player, 3 line remote, all magnesium
  16. it really does depend... the battery life of the NH900 is brilliant, esspecialy once you change the supplied battery for a 1400Mah one, and dont forget the AA attachment. Also, it doesnt need a charging cradle to charge, which is great for travelling. However, the NH-1 has a brilliant remote, and is a fair bit thinner and smaller too... but your right about the batteries. swings and roundabouts really, as we say round here.
  17. thats what i plan to do!! no decent remote or amplifier.... grrrr......
  18. any ideas on how those of us with slow time-limited dial up connections can get this?
  19. whats the MP3>ATRAC conversion like sound quality - wise?
  20. I do business economics A Level (i think thats a major or something?? I dont properly understand the American system) and I dont think economies of scale is quite what your looking for..... Your right actually, the NH900 is a really great unit, if I see an NH1 for less than £150 I'll snap that up. Just that the possibilities with 2nd generation Hi-MD hav'nt been realised. I get the feeling they keep stuff out, or make the units a bit c*****r so we will buy 3rd gen....
  21. I was tired when I put that.... ok ok ok so the HD3 doesnt have an OLED, and niether does the NH1 (which isnt what i put, because then i would have said 'have'.... not to worry....) I'm extremely mad with Sony over this - why cost-reduce the top of the line model?
  22. hey, I own an NH900, and I love it. I was one of the 1st to see the pictures on this forum of the RH10 and thought it looked amazing (as I still do). However, I am incredibly dissapointed for a few reasons..... 1, Its BIGGER! Sony have demonstrated how they can make extremely small units, like the NH1, and the HD3, which has an OLED. So why not the RH10?? Size and thickness is very important to me. 2, The REMOTE!! Its the same for godsake. no progress at all, the remote from the NH1 or the DNE20 would have been great. 3, No HD amp - need I say more? My NH900 will sound better.... I'm gunna buy the new Sony DAB portable instead
  23. 8mm taller!! thats almost a centimeter. sorry but im really considering NOT buying the RH10 and going for an NH1/NH900 combo.
