Bad guess, lithium batteries prefer to be kept well charged, as a rule try not to let it go below 1/3 full or it can shorten its life.

hi-lp has more highs than lp4 and better stereo, to my ears it is slightly better than lp4 but has more artifacts. LP2 sounds far better. As said before 128kbps Atrac3+ would be interesting but maybe it didnt improve on LP2?

I had the same dilemma, i ended up with the nh900, i had the money for both but i really liked the jog dial and three line display on the unit. if you do get the nh900 buy a nh-14wm for it.

It has never failed me, question though if fill my library with mp3 tracks, convert and transfer them then delete or backup and remove the original mp3 files will it list the atracs in my library?

The blind listening test at hydrogen audio is not telling us what sounded the best or worst, it is simply telling us which samples had the most noticable differences from the original. I suspect if they did a test asking the listeners(not experienced testers as they wwould be listening for artifacts) to say which was the most pleasurable to listen to atrac would fair better. I believe Sony have created a codec that is very easy to listen to , at 132 atrac does not sound the same as a cd it is coloured , smoother with less spikes and in my opinion is a pleasure to listen to. If you read reviews of the different music stores (T3, Stuff etc) , the same thing keeps coming up "atrac sounds better than mp3 and AAC , shame you have to use a Sony" is the general concencus.

Bought a sharp dr410e on ebay, thought it was cheap - no cd!!! Can anyone help, i have been sent a copy of the drivers folder on the disk but it doesnt work - run setup and it looks corrupt. I am willing to pay for a working driver.] Doomlordis My email address is doomville@dsl.pipex.com

Seikeden that is interesting , i have angel ripped from cd at 132 atrac3 and the intro is reproduced very well with no buzzing. I am using the nw-hd1 so atrac3 must do better than plus with low frequencies? Did you transcode from mp3?
