  1. There's a possibility that NH1 is firmware upgradable by sending it back to the service center. However, at this point, it is just a mere speculation.
  2. I subscribe to Cingular and received the phone as a Christmas gift from my parents. My setup is pretty much simple - coupled with Sony Ericsson's HBH-600 Akono Bluetooth headset. It's a decent headset, but battery life is somewhat low. I have to recharge every 12hrs. As for memory stick, I employ the DUO PRO 1GB. Haven't really gotten to use the camera, but I suspect that there are better phone-camera megapixels than the P910. The Opera seems to run faster with the P910 compared to my friend's P900. This is because of the increased in memory. I personally love the form factor of the P910 - it's definitely an improvement over the P900. Since I moved from the T616 to a P910, it's definitely worth the upgrade but would remain indifferent if I owned the P900. However, the memory upgrade done on the P910 is definitely a plus.
  3. Congrats! That's quite a phone. As for phones, I am still a SE "sucker"... hehe... just updated to the P910.
  4. This is what all of you have been waiting for. The world first HiMD deck. A glimpse of what may yet to come for HiMD in 2005. This is ONKYO's INTEC 275 HiFi system, which includes a HiMD deck! Product No. MD-133(S), Approx. retail: 63,000 Yen. Retail sale date: March 9, 2005. The bad news with the deck (to some people) is there's no USB port, thus you can't use it with the PC. 5. Is this the first time SonicStage 2.3 did not connect with CDDB? Do ensure that your firewall is set up accordingly to allow this connection. In addition, ensure that you have register with CDDB. If all fails, try resetting your router [assuming you are using broadband/DSL] and reboot. Good luck.
  6. It's bizarre to read that many of you still encounter varying problems when utilizing SonicStage. I personally only have encountered two problems thus far and they were insignificant when you apply the appropriate measure - the "Omgjbox.exe" issue and some unofficial codec causing audio playback problem. I suspect that most of the problems that you guys encountered were not simply because SonicStage is sub par software but the root may reside with your system and the utilities/software you utilized daily. This statement does not imply that SonicStage 2.3 is stable or great; but it does come a long way from version 1.5.
  7. Heh... that's most unfortunate. But a funny story indeed. I have never encounter any problem with TSA as yet; eventhough I do carry a spare NH-14WM in my photogear backpack. However, I do get a feeling that TSA does race-profiling.
  8. Interesting experience you have Nismo.

  10. Great effort! A minor typo in this sentence --> "The place for opinionated commentary on why MD us a great portable audio format."
  11. Yes, I do have the SonicStage Mastering Studio installed in my Sony TR5B. Send me a pm.
  12. Perhaps you need to update SonicStage Premium. I believe the last update was 2003, version 1.1.01.13281 for the MXS20 US Ed. In addition, there's a 1.5 JE version from MX series. Why don't you utilize SonicStage 2.3 instead? Are you employing a VAIO unit? If not, you will not able to use it. You can only use SonicStage Premium with a VAIO unit.
  13. For HiMD/NetMD users in Europe, the best thing to do is to download via Sony Connect-Europe. However, if you want to "bypass" the SonicStage 2.3 Installer from Sony Connect-Europe, you can download the full version of SonicStage 2.3 (approx. 38mb and I believe it includes Sony Connect-Europe) that was bundled for the VAIO Pocket [VGF-AP1/AP1L] *Please note that you may still need to use the SonicStage Installer/Add-On Utility to attain the Personal Audio Drivers for HiMD/NetMD devices as well as the ATRAC CD/AUDIOCD/MP3CD module.
  14. Perhaps, you need to install the ATRAC CD/AUDIOCD/MP3 CD Add-On Module. You can update your SonicStage 2.3 with this SonicStage 2.3 Application Upgrade Installer/Upgrade Utility.
  15. --> iLife '05 includes new versions of iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, iDVD and GarageBand. Further info.
  16. + it has no LCD. This iPod shuffle is ugly indeed.
  17. Heh... as Chris put it, you will likely get more tech support within this forum than Sony's ever friendly tech support.
  18. The serial number is printed on the box and also inside the lid of your MD. On the box, it should read something like this: s01-0xxxxxx-x. When you decide to register your NetMD with Sony; especially with PlanetMG if you live in Asia, do include the 0 along with the six numbers between s01 and x. To confirm, your serial number on the box should match the number inside the lid of your MD.
  19. There's no new driver for the N1 to my knowledge. NetMD drivers is included in the Personal Audio Driver - part of SonicStage. If you can get hold of a SonicStage 2.x CD, you should be able to locate the Personal Audio Driver folder. Nevertheless, you should either try: 1) Uninstalling and reinstalling your NetMD drivers (NetMD drivers derived from your present SonicStage CD) and reboot your machine. or 2) Try reinstalling the updated (updated in a sense that it includes newer NetMD and HiMD units) Personal Audio Driver by using the SonicStage 2.3 Application Upgrade Installer/Upgrade Utility. Note to Mods: Perhaps this thread should be move to Technical Support?
  20. All NetMD units should be 100% compatible with SonicStage regardless. It seems that you may need to reinstall your NetMD driver. Did SonicStage 2.3 uninstall your previous driver in the process of the update? If so, try reinstalling your N1 driver. In addition, check your XP device manager to view the status of your NetMD driver under USB controllers. Sometimes, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver will rectify your problem.
  21. My current favourite includes: Charles Mingus: Passions of a Man [The Complete Atlantic Recordings, 1956-1961] Kenji Kawai: Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence Dhafer Youssef: Electric Sufi Dhafer Youssef: Digital Prophecy Dhafer Youssef: Malak
  22. Gotcha... I did employed my Avatar with MSN Messenger as well. By the way, I created/edited this Avatar when I first adopt the MiniDisc format - notice the blue N910 in my Avatar.
  23. Well said. There's indeed a wealth of informative resources within T-Board regarding MiniDisc. It's truly a shame that recent events continue to deteriorate its environment. The moderators by T-Board should launch an initiative that will streamline its structure somewhat.
