  1. Sounds pretty dire! It's appaling really, CD ripping does eem pretty basic, neccessary funtionality. Can it manage to copy other CD's? perhaps the disc is damged (being from 1984). I have actually to almost like Sonic Stage, in my years of using it. CD ripping is usually pretty straight forward as is transferring. (although there are some issues which i'd like to see addressed) I'd never dream of using it as my primary PC music player though.
  2. That seems really dumb and unfair thing to do, once you have a physical CD surely you have the right to listen to it in it's full quality be it on a CD player or PC. From what i understand from this thread it is only the built in media player this happens. Can the CD be played through Winamp or win dows media player? if so, at what quality?
  3. Could you tell us what the major differences are? both in terms of build/apperance and sound quality (though is suppose SQ is subjective to ones own ears).
  4. Here is my case, the official sony/Proporta leather one. I think it looks stunning, gives the HD5 a real 'executive' look to it. The case actually doubles it's thickness and becomes even bulkier once the clip is on, so if size is an issue this is definetely not the case for you. I also have a silicone one, only problem with it that it seems to gather dust/hairs very easily (they will stick to it) but it is much kinder in terms of size
  5. IIRC juno only sells trance/dance type music. I know my brother has bought records from there many times, shipping is pretty fast (but then i do live in the UK)
  6. Mine had a gold connector, for what i paid for them i really don't mind even if they are fake. They sound alright to my ears and still look stunning.
  7. Whenver possible i prefer to buy a physical copy of the music as a CD, so itend not to download music. However i have used audiojelly.com in the past.
  8. Sounds like a good idea actually. I will try it out, thanks!!

  11. Well, from your tests the 'fake' does seem to be of exceptionally high quality. So much so thta i wonder why whoever is bootlegging them does not simnply start a rival firm. Perhaps the fake cards are different to the one in which you own? EDIT - It seems you must have one of the first batches of 'fakes'. After looking at the link from which Ishi quoted it would seem that i own a fake 1gb Sony!! I purchased this to go inside my phone, but it certainly has the fake packing. EDIT - i bought my 1gb for £40 from Ebay. Capacity is reading 949mb Just transfered 163mb of MP3 in 223seconds. Seems very slow, although i think my my USB ports are messed ATM and are only 1.1

  14. My brother owns a pairof HD25-1, for use when DJ'ing, they are supposed to be tight around your head to make them more closed, allowing greater accoustic performance of bass and passive noise cancelling, he also owns a pair of the SP's which he found cheap on Ebay as they from a concorde. I find the construction to be very lightweight on both the pairs however i understand this is to enhance comfort. Howver despit the lack of weight, neither pair feels as if they may break easily. As for the volume being to low, you may require an amp to power larger headphones, as trhey have greater resistance. I use Sennheiser PMX-200 as my main pair of portable headphones, which my de-restricted HD5h is able to ppower nicely, volume usually stays a tad over the half way point.
  15. Same here, (when i get a car that is...) looks like were better off sticking to simple AUX input, via line out.
  16. I think they come with a small pouch.
  17. Personally i swear by my ED21's. I'd highly recommend them. Sound is really nice, having very present bass but nothing overpowering (read EX71's). The sound is really nice and even i feel that nothing is lacking or exaggerated whilst listening. As for durability it is very good, the cord is double stranded all the way down with a nice rubber material, again way better than the infamous EX71's cord. Comfort is also second to none, i often forget i' have them in if turned off, also people who have tried my pair out always tell me how well they seem to stick in their ears whilst other pairs normaly fall out. They also benefit massively from the Y shaped cord for comfort, this way the entire cable weight is not strung on one ear like the neckchain type wirew which so m any earbids have these days. Just so that it does not sound too biased i will tell you the only problem i have had with them. At the top of the hosuing is a bass reflex hole type thing (cover it up and alot of bass is lost), which i once manged to get some cornmeal trapped inside of whilst wearing them at my part time job this then caused a buzzing noise to develop and had to be replaced. I had owned that pair for about a year previous. As long as you you are careful around gritty/grainy stuff then you should be O.K. I regularly put them unprotected into the front pocket of my bag (which has it's share of random dirt at the bottom) and they are fine.
  18. PSP does not come supplied with a 1.8'' HDD, although i do believe DATEL manufacture 4GB HDDs for the PSP, although they are very bulky and rather pricey. You are correct, the PSP value pack comes supplied with a measly 32mb of memory, enough for game saves nut little else. A couple of months after release in the U.K PSP Giga Packs were relesed these are much better value, for £20 extra they come supplied with a 1gb memory stick duo (flash), a movie stand and i think a USB cable. It's a Great deal, as i paid £60 for my 1GB sandisk card after buying a value pack (giga packs had not been released yet )
  19. Same here!! They'd be better if they were equipped witha headphone socket on the device though rather than the cable. The W800i is basically a K750i bundled with different headphones and a 512mb card, plus the walkman phone firmware can be put on a K750i.

    iPod Nano

Said like that you'd be a fool not to think it was some sort intentional design so that you could 'customise' your nano. Someone at work has a nano and my HD5H is actually no taller than it!!
  21. SNAP!! I'm too lazy to set up the perfect custom 6 band, so just use the Digital Sound preset malarky, same settings as you. Bass +3 Treble +1. Just how i like things when using my PMX-200's it a while since i've used any other pair.
  22. For earphones i'd highly recommend Sony's MDR-ED21. These IMO are highly unsung as far as internet opinions go. I had a pair of EX-71's for about a week before the cord disintegrated on me and didn't enjoy it one bit. I found the sound was too bassy adn the trebble too exaggerated (probably to compenstate the overpowering bass). Although many say these require ALOT of burning in so a week probably wasn't long enough to get them to thier best. ED21's on the otherhand i find are just right in all areas, The bass remains impressive (much better than stock 'phones)without killing other frequencies so the overall response is nice and even. They also have the advantage of a Y shaped cord, not one of those silly neck chain things which leave the entire cord weight concentrated on one ear like the EX71's(made worse by the fact that there is the weight of the extension plug/socket thing aswell). I can't deny that many people like the sound of EX71's but after owning a pair i fail to see what it is. Oh yeah ED21's are also about £10 cheaper than EX71's. Godd luck finding a pair that's right for you anyway!
  23. I say let him carry on doing it, As bobspud said ''if people are too dumb or lazy'' then it's only them who are losing out, very noble of you to put that page up though Hehe, i bet those selling it are fuming
  24. The battery life is hard to judge as it varies depending on usage. It always seems adequate to me although it's stamina is far from that of a Sony Walkman, there is a battery information screen within the system settings menu, Here is mine at present: As for games Lumines comes highly recommended, it's simple yet complex (read the guide at gameFAQs.com and you'll see what i mean). Also wipout Pure is alot of fun, great graphics and playability plus i really love the whole futuristic aspect it has to it. There are also loads of downloads available from it through yourpsp.com (official sony site) ranging from new craft, tracks and music, menu skins. Ridge Racer is a must have, it stays faithful to the classic ridge gameplay and once again has very nice graphics. GTA:Liberty City Stories is also a good game. It's sotry line is pretty good and will certainly appeal to fans of the other GTAgames with it's comedy aspect. As for graphics however, my opinion is that at first sight they are pretty horrible, but once gotten used to they do not feel so bad. ^Basically that's all of the games i own A game to certainly avoid is Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0, the handling is horrible and gameplay i find dull and repetive, (luckily i did not pay for it ...)
