When I first started work, as 18 yeard old, in 1986, I had a walkman of some description. My first memory is seeing a commercial on MTV, i think, where a guy at a party/club, is doing the music, by playing a tape, but has it keep untangaling it every five seconds, until he gets a mini-disc recorder. I could relate to that, and was excited about mini-disc recorders. In 1999, just after getting married, me and the wife, went to Currys Electorical superstore in London, and picked up my first unit, plus 10 black discs, for 200ish pounds. I have an ipod now, but I can't make my mind up which i prefer. I like the ipods, take all your music with you, but prefer the sound of my NH1!

I have never purchased any from a shop( even through I know some shops in London do sell them) I always get mine through Amazon.co.uk

Is it still possible to buy Hi-MD recorders??? I've had a RH1, but I wasn't that impressed. At the moment I have a MZ-NH1, but I would Love to get a RH10. Amazon has discountinued a lot of Mini-isc recorders, and Audiocubes are the same. If the RH10 is expensive, I wondered if some one could suggest a model. I like the NH1, but don't like the fact that you you have to recharge in the cradle( having problems connecting to the charger to recharge atthe moment) Any advice would be most welcome Thanks Derek.

What's your favorite band/artist/group, and why?
GQ Smooth replied to Christopher's topic in The Loft
Here's mine: Jazz:Wes Montgomery & Miles Davies. Different Instruments, Leaders in both! Hip Hop: Public Enemy: Ahead of their time, and still sounds fresh today. Pop: Michael Jackson: Really only for 'off the wall', and especially for 'Don't stop 'till you get enough' Gospel: Stephen da Levite:To Die is gain. Rock: Anything by Coldplay! -
Due to an abundance of Hi-MD units, and a financial situation( ie, I'm broke ) I am now selling my 3 month old RH1 for 100 english pounds. I would prefer to sell to some one in the UK/London area, but willing to go far a field. Please check seller respond concerning me. I would prefer payment via paypal. Many thanks.

Thank you for that. What I mean is how do you organise playlists, to transfer to my music onto my Hi-md discs. With my ipod, it was soo easy, but not sure of the best way to go about it.

I'm still curious how people go about organising their music om Sonic stage. I have 4 1GB Hi-HD, but can't figure out the best way to go about it. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

Not sure if this has been covered, but would welcome feedback. I have come over from itunes/Ipod, which gave you many options on how to sort your music into different folders. I don't mind sonic stage, but am finding it difficult to organise my music. I know SS offers playlists, and Dynamic play lists, but I find that I have the same songs on different discs. I have a RH1. How do other people organise their playlists? Would welcome any advice.

A bit disapointed with the sound. Sounds no better than my NH1, or my MZ N505. Thought I'd pass it onto some peeps who really wanted it.

Man, am I fed up. I must have walked the length of Oxford Street, searched the whole web, looking for a RH1. From having a man in my local Sony centre telling me that the RH1 was an old model, and I must be after the RH10 , to peole looking at me like I was a from 1980(Mini Disc, what is that ) In my frustration, I sent off a e-mail to Sony Europe, and rang Sonys customer help line. I was told that the RH1 is the only Mini disc Sony do. It's only been out for 6 weeks, and as the demand for Hard drive/MP3 players is all the rage, Sony haven't made many. I was also told that this COULD be the last Mini disc Sony make before they phrase them out, but thats nothing no one here hasn't heard before. Thanks for that. Have just spoken to and ordered my RH1, and should come with on Tuesday, God Willing. Thanks again!
