Hi Guys, I'm selling a barely used NH900 on eBay. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

I have a Stanton ST150. Here's the link onthe Stanton website: http://www.stantondj.com/v2/prod_st150.asp The sound quality is better this way because it is a direct digital signal from the turntable. Couple this with PCM recording on the MD and you have what amounts to the warmth of vinyl with the convenience of digital.

Thanks. Regarding the EU units - how do I know if I've purchased one? It may sound strange, but with eBay and various online distributors, its hard to know where the unit actually came from. Is there something on the box that says - EU version?
-
Can anyone educate me in terms of what the difference is if I were to buy an MD unit (NH900 for example) from Australia, or if I were to buy one from the USA? I'm not interested in the "accessories" differences, but I'm more concerned about whether the actual units are the same or not. Aside from the need for an adapter for the charger - is there a downside to purchasing an MD unit from Australia if I live in the US?

I'm in with Hi-SP...!

I have a Stanton ST150. Here's the link onthe Stanton website: http://www.stantondj.com/v2/prod_st150.asp The digital output on this is amazing - although, I had to buy an RCA to optical converter (about $25) in order for it to work through the optical input of my NH900.

Hi, I'm selling a brand new MD case on eBay for $11. I never even took it out of the box because I returned the RH910 unit that I bought it for. The case is compatible with the following MDs: MZ-DH10P MZ-DH710 MZ-RH10 MZ-RH910 Here's the eBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

my turntable has an SPDIF digital out - I use my MD to record my vinyl directly from my turntable. I would never even consider a MD unit that doesn't have optical recording

...disregard, I got my answer. I think I'm going for the mz nh900...

I recently got an RH910 and I don't really like it. It got badly scratched by just having it in my pocket, the recording functions are cumbersome, and the recordings sometimes perform a magic act by dissapearing from one group and re-appearing in another. The only thing I REALLY like about it is the ability to make a recording and upload it as a WAV file (with either SS or HiMDRendeder). That said, what other units out there have the Self Recording Upload Feature that the RH910. Is this simply a Sonic Stage improvement that entitles ALL players to take advantage of? Please help...I actually have my eye on the MZ-DH710...
-
I'm curious to know why you don't like your new RH910 the best?
-
...another thing I thought was unique to the RH10 (910) is the uploading feature. I could be wrong but I thought the new units were the only ones without the uploading restrictions...?
-
thanks Marc...I just tried to donate but Paypal looks like it might be down because it won't let me get past the "pay" button. I'll try again tomorrow...
-
Marc - First off, I am amazed out how well your conversion tool works! I was a bit skeptical to use it but I was wrong! Secondly, the program was so easy to use and worked so well that it prompted me to ask the question: how did you do it? Or rather, was it difficult? Did you spend years developing this or are you simply a technical genius and this is something that was generated without much struggle. I ask because when you consider how Sony's protective tactics have plagued MD enthusiasts for years, it seems to me that HIMDRENDERER is quite possibly the most under-rated technical innovation since, well, the minidisc itself. This is something that CNET should be covering. Am I just being overly-dramatic, or is HIMDRENDERE a major breakthrough?
-
...that's probably it! I just named everything and will try again...
-
Hello, I tried using HIMDRENDERER for the first time yesterday and it didn't work for me. After I uploaded a 20 minute PCM linear recording to Sonic Stage, I chose the Wav option in HIMDRENDERER and when I hit "Go Render" I got and error message that said that the program will have to be closed. Could it be that the file was too big? Should I try adding track marks?
-
Thanks. I will look into himdrenderer.
-
Oh - I forgot to mention that my turntable has an SPDIF digital-out that I can hook up directly to my MD's optical in. This is what makes me want to upload digitally - but I guess I'll opt for the more prctical method of using the line-in.

Hello, My first post here. Please be gentle. I just purchased a RH910 and I realized that I have two options when uploading vinyl recordings to WAV on SS: 1) Record vinyl to the unit via the line-in and follow standard SS procedure or, 2)record vinyl to the unit via the optical-in and go through the hassle of downloading HIMDRENDERER. My question is: which one would you choose? I personally would rather record via the optical-in because it's a higher fidelity recording - BUT, I'm also not very interested in having to incorporate a 3rd party application to work with SS... So, which one would you choose...?
