  1. The best price I have seen is £7.74 for a pack of 2 from Amazon.
  2. If you are trying to transfer files to the MD unit that cannot be played natively on it (or indeed have SonicStage set to convert all files to a particular bitrate on transfer), SonicStage will convert the files to an appropriate format/bitrate before transferring them. The converted files are stored in your "Optimised Files" folder. For example, if your library contains WMA Lossless files and you try to transfer those to the MD, they will need to be converted to an Atrac format before the transfer can occur. A copy of the resultant Atrac Files are stored in your Optimised Files folder, as this enables a quick transfer (without conversion) the next time you wish to move the files to your MD. Hope that helps. Cheers Peter
  3. Hi Blue Raja Is the screen protector that you use on your DH10P a handmade one, or can they be bought "off the shelf"? Thanks
  4. I would like the following additions: The ability to transfer an Atrac lossless file as a PCM file to the Hi-MD, using all of the lossless informationThe ability to transfer (say) 256kbps Atrac lossless files from SonicStage as (say) 132kbps files to the Hi-MD by using all of the lossless information, not by transposing from the 256kbps portion of the fileThe ability to select different lossless bitrates in the "right click" menu, for a wav fileThe ability to convert wav files into gapless Atrac filesCheers Peter
  5. OK, so I've just realised what a dumb question this is. There is no line out on the 800 and its model number is MZ-NHF800. I'm gonna blame the head cold ("man flu" ) that I've currently got. Cheers Peter
  6. I understand that the MZ-NH900 has a digital amp, whereas the MZ-NH800 does not. AFAIK, that means that the headphone output on the MZ-NH900 is a little better, but does the digital amp make any differencr when using the "line out" facility? Thanks Peter
  7. Have a look in the downloads section - see top left corner of this webpage
  8. I've just managed to pick up a brand new MZ-DH10P and am well pleased. Please could someone confirm that this volume hack definitely works on the DH10P? Thanks

    Is it real?

There's one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=9737782206 Not mine, but looks nice.
  10. Hi. Are there any dents, marks or scratches on the unit? Do you have the box or instructions? Does it play/record/transfer files correctly? Thanks Peter
  11. Hi If I were to burn an audio CD from Atrac Lossless files on my PC, would the whole lossless file be used to make the audio CD, or just the lossy part? Thanks Peter
  12. I'm unsure why that's funny, but so long as you're happy.
  13. I'm selling 2 Hi-MD units, both in mint condition and each with less than 3 hours use. Sony MZ-NH600 ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MESE:IT ) Sony MZ-NHF800 ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MESE:IT ) Thanks Peter
  14. Ditto Bishops Stortford too! NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Does the MZ-NH1 work off the mains without the battery inserted, or does the battery need to be in place? Thanks Peter
  16. The Argos website said the same for the Cheshire stores yesterday, but it now says "out of stock".
  17. The first HD595's were 120 ohm. The latest versions are 50 ohm. (I have a set).
  18. I tried this on my NHF800 and the value is currently set at "113 xxxS50" - is that euro-capped or not? Thanks Peter
  19. Madcat Just seen this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-MZ-N10-External...1QQcmdZViewItem cheers Peter
  20. Try http://www.sennheiserspares.com/index_files/Page592.html - I've never used them. cheers Peter
  21. Thanks for the reply - I would always try to use the original source. But would burning an audio cd actually use the lossless part of the file? thanks Peter
  22. Hi all I'm just getting back into minidisc - I'll be getting a HiMD recorder from my wife for my birthday. I understand from reading this thread that if I save a song as Atrac Lossless, the "lossy" part is used to transfer that song to the Hi-MD player. Would I be right in assuming that if I were to burn an Atrac CD, the same applies (ie only the "lossy" part is used)? If I were to burn an ordinary audio CD, is the "lossless" part used? thanks Peter
