In my opinion, it was the folded towel that solved your problem. I had a problem once with "glitches" in the recording. We were loud, we're always loud. I had my Sharp MT770 resting on top of a Samsung DLP TV, nothing under it. The vibrations must have messed up the writing process from time to time. Now, I always lay the recorder on the soft carrying case that came with it, haven't had the problem since...even when placing the unit on top of a bass cabinet ( no , I don't normally do that. It's usually on top of the PA mixer)

Although I am still waiting for my RH1 to arrive, I will be using it to record my (loud) hobby band rehearsals and performances. I have been using the Sharp MT770 that I have had for a couple of years. I feel that the Sharp makes outstanding recordings in both SP and LP2 mode. Of course my old ears aren't what they used to be. You young guys with the golden ears will find out about that later in life. I am trying to figure out how the PCM mode and the HI-SP modes might compare with the modes I mentioned earlier in live recording scenarios. It seems that PCM is the same as CD quality? Is HI-SP better than the old SP and LP2 modes? Sure is a big increase in recording time with HI-SP, I could start it and just let it run. Edit out the BS later. Who has thoughts about all this?

I guessed that legacy referred to anything that is not HiMD.

I just ordered 6 discs from minidisc_au on Ebay. After shipping from Australia to Texas they were 5.79 ea. They haven't made it yet, just shipped friday. Any recent, better deals found lately? I'm sure that's not the best price, but I looked a while to find that! Still waiting on my RH1 too.

I never got an email notification from them. That was why I called on Wednesday to see what was up. That's when I was told it would ship that day or the next. Maybe it did ship, and I was not notified this time either. I chose standard shipping. I guess I'll just have to wait 'em out. The units are probably in short supply at this time. There are some for sale on Ebay now.

I agree totally with A440. I would add about input level adjustment...always set it a little on the low side. If you get the input level too hot and cause distortion, it's not a pretty thing to hear and can't be removed. And also find a recording level and leave it there! Don't fiddle with it during a performance. Just my 2 cents, good luck with your live recordings!

I see that some get the best possible service, and others get left out! This is my 3rd order from them over a period of a couple of years. I guess being a repeat customer doesn't count for much. At least it's not a product that's vital to our health, only a music toy. It may have shipped out, and in the rush for the long weekend, they neglected to update the notifications. If they haven't shipped out yet, and don't get shipped until next Wednesday, we won't even get it next week!

Hi ! I'm new here, been reading for a while. Been using a Sharp MT770 for recording my band for about 2 years. Love minidisc for live recording! Now on to the show..... I placed my preorder for the new RH1 last Friday 6-23 with Sound Professionals. When I called them 6-28, they said the RH1's would be shipping either that day or the next day. I would get a shipping confirmation via email when it shipped. That had not happened by friday 6-30, and my order status on their website still says order processing. So, I called this afternoon, just to see what they could tell me. The recording led me to believe that they closed up shop thursday afternoon, and wouldn't reopen until next Wednesday 7-5! Anybody else in this same situation? Or, did yours get shipped from the preorder this week? I guess I'll just have to try and be patient. Thanks, Gary
