Connects2 Walkman-to-UniLink Car Audio Integration Adapter
Jillako replied to MDX-400's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Thanks, MDX-400. I managed to snag one off an online store and have it shipped to a friend I'm meeting. Looking forward to getting this installed when I'm back home in a month after vacation! -

Connects2 Walkman-to-UniLink Car Audio Integration Adapter
Jillako replied to MDX-400's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Thanks for the great review. I've actually been looking for this product but without luck! If anybody on the forums can sell me one, I'm interested. Alternately, I will be in London for a day next month and if I can purchase at a retail outlet, that will be great too. Any suggestions on where to look, UK members? -
You're welcome. Funny how I keep seeing this player on sale after I bought it full price!!
-
On sale again this week at CircuityCity.com and in store.
-
Yup, available but not affordable. Check Froogle I have to say that $65 + tax for the 4GB is an awesome price. I don't see it lasting, go for it guys!

theFanboy, the memory stick duo prices seem to be dropping quite a bit faster DannyB37, I went searching for a better price and found a great deal! Buy.com is selling the 4GB stick for $85 http://www.buy.com/prod/SanDisk_4GB_Memory.../202629242.html If you use Google Checkout, you can knock off another $20 to bring it to $65 + tax ($71 in California). I couldn't resist the price and just ordered one myself

Hopefully within a year! I saw the 4GB stick for sale under a $100 this Thanksgiving. I paid $115 for my 1GB stick in June last year! So, maybe my wish is not unreasonable.

Yes, the PSP's headphone output is very good. Also, it is the only audio player that I know of that can play MP3, AAC, WMA and ATRAC natively, showing album art for all these files. I fully intended to use the media capabilities of the PSP when I purchased it and have been happy! Now, I just need that 8GB Memory Stick Duo to reach $100!!

I think while its good that SonicStage is not required for Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, it would be good to have the option. The PSP model for audio would be ideal!
-
I was in my local CircuitCity store yesterday and they had the same player on sale for $120. Check your local store!
-
The bad guy who got killed in the first scene had the HD5 in his draw. Also Eva Green used a CyberShot (on the boat in Venice). Of course, both Bond (Craig) and Green used Sony Ericsson cell phones. Bond and the bad guys all used VAIOs. Sony all the way!

Pretty good price for this player. Check CircuitCity.com, search for "Sony S2" player. This is probably US only.
-
Wow, that was most impressive, Ishi! Thanks much!
-
Those prices are crazy!

Simon, I have been wanting to buy this clip too... Unfortunately, Stuge is right. It appears to be part of the Japanese package and not the US package. I have tried in vain to find a part number. Having a part number would be the first step to finding this accessory for sale.. Anyone?

What version of SonicStage are you using? I have about 10 GB of WMAs in my library and have no trouble transfering to my NW-S205F or MD players. I'm using 4.0, btw.
-
Works fine for me right now.
-
That's great. I was curious but I'll definitely have to try it now. I wonder if it works with WMAs, because I use a lot of those too.

I realize this thread has been idle for a bit but I am new here and wanted to add my two cents. I use a W600i Walkman phone and am very happy with the phone and it's music player features. Of course, I wish it would support ATRAC and that I could use SonicStage with it but I think SE has done an admirable job of targeting the general public (which is obviously a larger group than SonicStage users). The sound quality is actually very decent for a cell phone and included in-ear headphones with the handsfree set works good for me. I use the phone on my short bicycle ride to and from work and when someone calls me, it automatically pauses the music and connects the call, returning to the music when done. When I am at work, however, I use regular size headphones and a MD unit, because 1. The cell phone doesn't hold enough music to last me all day 2. The battery would probably run out 3. It's probably best to not overexpose myself to the radiation from a cell phone Anyway, it is no replacement for a regular Walkman but does its duty fairly well. Also, you do not need to use included software to sync your music. You can just copy it over when using the phone as a USB mass storage device. I use a Mac and using an iTunes-plugin, I am able to sync my MP3 music onto the phone. Of course, a PSP-like model would be more desirable. On the PSP, I can copy files over manually, use an iTunes plugin on my Mac or use SonicStage to copy songs over! Flexibility is good

Jillako's NW-S205F Pictorial-Review
Jillako replied to Jillako's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
I'm no expert but it's not bad. The RH1 does sound better (I feel it has more clear distinction of notes) but the S205F holds its own against other flash or HD players I've tried. One difference I noticed quite easily - there is some ambient sound (noise, like small hiss) in the background with the S205F. When the unit is on and not playing music, the RH1 is absolutely silent, whereas with the S205F said noise can be heard easily. Harder to notice when playing loud music (as I am wont to do ) but you know it's there. -
Jillako's NW-S205F Pictorial-Review

LOL, Dil. Yeah, I'm quite taken with the form factor myself. I've been using it pretty much everyday since I bought it, leaving my usual MD units behind in my bag. -
Sports headphones are good for when you're running I guess. For general usage, the supplied headphones MDR-J011 don't have a tight enough fit with your ear to provide the best sound quality / isolation. Also, by having a full length headphone cord, Sony has ensured that this headphone will never get used!! What is the point of a Sport headphone which doesn't have a short cord (for use with included armband) ??!

Thanks, Ishi. Great news on the price I wish the PSP had a docking connector so it can have an elegant docking solution. Maybe something that Sony will keep in mind for the PSP's successor. Anyway, hope this one makes its way to the US pretty soon.

Hi there, Chupacabra. Thanks for the info. Do you have pictures of the EU unit with box & contents? Just curious!
