0 bogon07
thanks again Ishiyoshi,I first assumed they were the same physical size with a different size harddrive. They look better in the pictorial than the press release - the reflection in the first two pictures almost give the impression they are transparent. The plug on their standard earphones sticks up a long way compared to the one on the remote. 0 Ishiyoshi
I thought the charging cradle should be included in the package?←Yes, the charging cradle is included as bundled accessories with both the NW-A3000 and NW-A-1000.Edit: the charging cradle will not be included as bundled accessories. 0 lxrichbirdxl
Btw, can the player be charged on the cradle and when it's connected by the usb to computer as well? Then what's the other cradle on the right? Thanks
0 Ishiyoshi
Btw, can the player be charged on the cradle and when it's connected by the usb to computer as well? ←I believe it is highly plausible that one may be able to charge the unit via USB while it's attached to the cradle; this is because the cradle's source of power supply can be derived from either USB Bus Power or AC Adaptor. Then what's the other cradle on the right? ←The attachment on the right of this picture is for the NW-A1000. Please note the picture on the left depicts the attachment for the NW-A3000 attached on the Charging Cradle, BCR-NWU1. So, one will have a choice between two sets of attachment size – one for the NW-A3000 and the NW-A1000; and the user can swap the attachment according to the model which they will employ – with one standard Charging Cradle. Cuz I usually transfer songs to my nw-hd3 like that, not using the power supply connected.←Leaving the DC-in out of the picture, the player will still receives a slow USB-charging once connected via USB to the PC. However, I believe charging cease upon file/music transfer mode.

0 graham_s
i got one of these players today, and i have to say i'm quite impressed with the player. less so with the software but that has been discussed at length elsewhere.the player charges while attached to the usb port whether you are transferring or not. the usb cable can be connected to an adaptor to recharge the unit when a computer is not available.as a side note, the sound quality is better than my friends ipod. 0 mew
Hi just got my nwa 1000 three days ago and i found this site about the sony products. all i wanted to know is here it was to good to be true ..and yes ... there's something no one talked about already, i don't know how you use your player but i use mine evertime and usually wth a case on my belt and no one mentioned if the case ckm nwa 1000 had a belt clip. It's true that the A1000 is quite small but a beltclip on the case could be somekind of hepful. Anyone heard about that ?By the way it's because i read all u wrote about it that i bought mine ..Thanks for that .. i realy like it more that my last mini ipod ..except connect of course. I have a remote from my sony minidisc days and I remember that it also worked on Sony MP3 CD players, just without track data of course. Important fucntions (pause / play / volume etc) worked perfectly. A remote would be an important accessory if I was gonna buy a Sony MP3 player, and it'd save me a bit of cash ;-)Dave

Surely this then leaves your usb cable free to charge the unit at work etc with the AC power charger.Richie

Surely this then leaves your usb cable free to charge the unit at work etc with the AC power charger.Richie←It takes 7 hours to charge via USB according to the manual so you would only use it more or less for keeping the unit powered, but then it would normally last all day at work no problem with just teh battery. The AC adapter actually plugs into the wall and then using the usb cable into the player, there is no need to hook up to teh pc unless you want to transfer or charge via the usb.
