thanks again Ishiyoshi,

I first assumed they were the same physical size with a different size harddrive.

They look better in the pictorial than the press release - the reflection in the first two pictures almost give the impression they are transparent.

The plug on their standard earphones sticks up a long way compared to the one on the remote.

Btw, can the player be charged on the cradle and when it's connected by the usb to computer as well?

I believe it is highly plausible that one may be able to charge the unit via USB while it's attached to the cradle; this is because the cradle's source of power supply can be derived from either USB Bus Power or AC Adaptor.

Then what's the other cradle on the right?

BCR-NWU1.jpg

The attachment on the right of this picture is for the NW-A1000. Please note the picture on the left depicts the attachment for the NW-A3000 attached on the Charging Cradle, BCR-NWU1. So, one will have a choice between two sets of attachment size – one for the NW-A3000 and the NW-A1000; and the user can swap the attachment according to the model which they will employ – with one standard Charging Cradle.

Thanks for ur answers. but now I'm still confused, what if the player is only connected via the usb to the com, is it being charged? Cuz I usually transfer songs to my nw-hd3 like that, not using the power supply connected.

Leaving the DC-in out of the picture, the player will still receives a slow USB-charging once connected via USB to the PC. However, I believe charging cease upon file/music transfer mode.

Meh, the remote looks pants. No screen?? If anything is going to be the deal breaker on this for potential buyers who have actually used sony 'screened' remotes, it will be this. Is there any new knowledge on how the rm-mc40elk will function with this?

i got one of these players today, and i have to say i'm quite impressed with the player. less so with the software but that has been discussed at length elsewhere.

the player charges while attached to the usb port whether you are transferring or not. the usb cable can be connected to an adaptor to recharge the unit when a computer is not available.

as a side note, the sound quality is better than my friends ipod. :ol_biggrin:

Hi

just got my nwa 1000 three days ago and i found this site about the sony products. all i wanted to know is here ;) it was to good to be true ..and yes ... there's something no one talked about already, i don't know how you use your player but i use mine evertime and usually wth a case on my belt and no one mentioned if the case ckm nwa 1000 had a belt clip. It's true that the A1000 is quite small but a beltclip on the case could be somekind of hepful. Anyone heard about that ?

By the way it's because i read all u wrote about it that i bought mine ..Thanks for that .. i realy like it more that my last mini ipod ..except connect of course.

Just to say I just coughed up for this: http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/prod...SON-CKSNWA3000B

the CKSNWA3000B , case for the NW-A3000, dunno if it's any good but for £5.50 I couldn't say no :)

Thanks for the link; it will be useful for those who reside in the UK. Just a note of interest - did you guys notice that the carrying case is listed within "Ipod Accessories." :ol_rolleyes:

Nonetheless, it is nice to see that the e-store stocks the leather version of the carrying case for a few extra quids.

it might interest everyone to know that the remote control from my minidisc player works on my A3000

(the code on the remote is RM-MC11EL)

it's only got limited functonality (i can't get track information or access the menu, but most of the other functions work.)

Thats pretty interesting alright! I have a remote from my sony minidisc days and I remember that it also worked on Sony MP3 CD players, just without track data of course. Important fucntions (pause / play / volume etc) worked perfectly. A remote would be an important accessory if I was gonna buy a Sony MP3 player, and it'd save me a bit of cash ;-)

sorry I meant 50 bucks, it was 49.99. why buy a stupid piece of plastic for 50 bucks when the cable hock up using the normal supplied usb cable works fine.

The trouble i see with that is to use the supplied AC power charger you have to keep removing the USB cable from the PC (mine is round the back, under the desk, arm through the middle of the printer etc.). Surely this then leaves your usb cable free to charge the unit at work etc with the AC power charger.

It takes 7 hours to charge via USB according to the manual so you would only use it more or less for keeping the unit powered, but then it would normally last all day at work no problem with just teh battery.

The AC adapter actually plugs into the wall and then using the usb cable into the player, there is no need to hook up to teh pc unless you want to transfer or charge via the usb.
