No Wonder No One Likes MiniDisc!

All the SonicStages I have downloaded DO NOT WORK. I cannot get music on my player via USB anymore. NOTHING WORKS.

And even when the software does work it crashes and takes up a massive ammount of system resources.

If Sony cant get a SonicStage that works so I can use the player they made than I am just going to go out and buy an iPod. Even though I hate iPods and all the white earbud freaks who own them, and NO I DON'T WANT TO BECOME PART OF THEIR DAMN CHURCH/CULT, I know they are a lot happier than I am right now because they can get music on and off there computer to their portable player. OH MY GOD IMAGINE THAT.

I was rooting for the format but now its pretty clear that no one really cares, even Sony.

I think my NHF800 will make a badass door stop or paper weight,

what do you guys think would be more suitable? I am thinking if I fill it with concrete it will get both of the jobs done pretty well. And you will also have to take into consideration the door can't be too heavy. And for the paper weight I might not even need need to go through the effort of putting in the concrete mix.

But if I don't then I might feel the urge to use the POS again. But maybe by that time some software might be out that supports the damn thing. But hey I don't want these papers to blow anywhere, the AC in my room can be pretty aggressive from time to time, like a wind tunnel.

I would really like to use my MD for music, but hey THERE ARE NO DAMN PROGRAM THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET.

And I have done my fair share of looking, installing, and uninstalling ever since that demon stand alone came out. So if anyone wanted to hold my hand and tell me where I can get a SonicStage that works THANK YOU.

Until then I'll be in bathroom mixing concrete in the tub.

AHHHHHHHH

@pansypistol

first of, seemingly someone does care... otherwise there wouldn't be an MDCF... I see a lot of ppl trying to help you (although granted, none of them are paid by Sony)

second... if you can get to an internet connection, just download the official installer (with connect) as it does work normally... if it doesn't check your PC and see whether you have followed all instructions in the pinned threads

third... you had a working 3.2 but wanted to get SB and installed the standalone to get SB... if you had looked, you would have found the SB installer in the downloads section, there is no need at all for a fresh instal of SS to get it

fourth... do you think these big letters and caps will solve your problems? please control yourself a bit

so, just do a clean (as described here) install of the net-version of 3.2, once that's installed, install SB2.0 from the downloads section

if your PC can handle it (it can, you had a working version!) there is absolutely no reason why this wouldn't work

Wow, Cool it old boy! Just calm down a bit, relax. We love mini disc and we care! This is the place for assistance and there are lots of experienced users who can help. I have to say that although there are a lot problems with SS reported on the forum, I personally haven't experienced them.

What system are you running and how have you tried to upgrade? What version worked for you? Give as much information as you can and you might find someone has some answers...

Look after your machine a bit longer!

I tried all the tips you guys said and nothing worked. I know my computer can w/o a problem handle this kind of program, since it has in the past, and even once ran this program.

It was running the program fine until I formatted my computer and re-installed the SS. I format my OS twice a year, once befroe school and once after school and this is the only program out of the 40-50 on my computer that has given me any problems.

My computer is:

AMD 3100

4096 RAM

I think it should not have a problem.

Let me know if there is anytihng else I can do. Even the clean install did not work.

Even the clean install did not work.

Ok let's recap - uninstall as described here:

http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071

Re-install from the original discs that came with your unit.

Get on the internet and upgrade to 3.2 from the Sony Site or from one of the links in this thread:

http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=9586

During all uninstall / re-install make sure the unit is not connected to your PC.

This will work.
