zahg
Had an MZ-RH10 on order from Amazon which had an estimated delivery of about 10-12 days, this went up another couple of days and now its estimating Oct 20th! So have cancelled and looked around for somewhere that has it in stock and noone seems to have any. If anyone knows where in the UK I can order one from available stock then please lemme know (asap) - price under £160 would be good!thanks-zahg

This is probably true, but they are more likely to have some in stock: I did find these though - don't know if they're any good: http://www.bristol-online.com/listings/Hi-...lers/all/retro/
zahg
Thanks! Actually I found that exact same page and have rung all those dealers (and a few more) - NONE sold portable mindisc players - can you believe that!!? I tried Sony store last and eventually got through to somebody who started looking on his computer for stock and then the computer crashed - said he'd ring me back in 5 and its been 20! =(Also I have just been on sony UK website and sonystyle website - I CANNOT even find any MD player on the site! Search comes back with nothing! This is getting very frustrating!!This is probably true, but they are more likely to have some in stock: I did find these though - don't know if they're any good: http://www.bristol-online.com/listings/Hi-...lers/all/retro/ Edited October 7, 2005 by zahg
Sparky191
I've seen it for sale in the some of the Irish stores, but for eye watering prices. Can't remember off hand what exactly the price was (€400+) I think. But if I see any at the weekend I'll let you know.

zahg
Sony shop in Bristol has one in stock at £199.95 and I can't really afford to pay this much (might as well get a jap unit imported), but said they would price match any other shop in a 10 mile radius but I doubt I'll find anybody selling it =(If you find one at a reasonable price over in Ireland then let me know cheers.-zahg
Sparky191
The words reasonable price & Ireland do not go together mate. If your only being fleeced, you're doing well here.

MDGB2
In a cabinet surrounded by millions of microscopic MP3 players.IMHO now that Hi-MD natively supports MP3, the only thing holding the format back is lack of advertising. Sparky191
Had a quick look in my local stores. The Sony shop had new models until a couple of weeks ago. All it has now is one NH600 on clearance. Guess their clearing their stocks aswell. The shops in the city center had some last week. When I'm back in work on Monday, I'll have a look for you. Never bought international before and guessing I may get taxed on the items when importing?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 QED has in stock:mz-rh10
VillagerN
Found a couple of international ebay items, what do you peeps think? Never bought international before and guessing I may get taxed on the items when importing?I wanted the silver RH10 and just received mine from the ebay.com seller 'BuyfromJapan'. Might be a bit more than you want to pay (basically £200), but you do get the LCD remote and several people on here have testified to his reliability (which is what pushed me and I'm not complaining). Were no hidden charges. BTW, my local Comet certainly has the RH10 at £199 and Hughes have the 910 and 710.
zahg
VillagerN: Did you get charged import tax? If not did you do anything to to avoid getting charged?thanks.I wanted the silver RH10 and just received mine from the ebay.com seller 'BuyfromJapan'. VillagerN
I only paid what was charged on eBay. On the parcel the 'is a gift' box is marked by the seller which means you're not supposed to be charged tax, as I understand it (and certainly I wasn't). VillagerN: Did you get charged import tax? surripere
Hi ZahgThis may not be of much help but I noticed the little shop called the 'cassette shop' just round the corner from the Hippodrome in the centre of Bristol sells a lot of MD gear but I don't know if they have an RH10. Got mine from unbeatable.co.uk in August but they don't seem to be on line at the moment. They had them in the Sony shop in Bath a few weeks ago but at £200.Good luck
zahg
Thanks surripere, wasn't aware of that shop by the hippodrome, will give them a try. Think I will most probably get one imported and have a nice stand for it.Hi ZahgThis may not be of much help but I noticed the little shop called the 'cassette shop' just round the corner from the Hippodrome in the centre of Bristol sells a lot of MD gear but I don't know if they have an RH10.
