I've just got my black MZ-EH1; and a question

My black EH1 arrived six days after my payment. Yes!!!!

But here's my first question.

The player comes with a charger ACES605K (input 100V; output DC6V 500mA) which is not suitable for use as the wall AC is 220-240V in HK.

OTOH, I have a AC-ES608K (input 100V-240V; output DC6V 800mA) that comes with my NW-HD3. Is this charger suitable for EH1 noting the different output mA (500 vs 800 mA).

Btw, I have a step-down voltage converter from 220-230V to 110-115V. Is this OK or will the 10V difference critical??

Thx for advice.

spindizzy is right. The EH1 requires 500mA and your source supplies 800mA (you need the source's maximum mA to be equal to or greater than what your unit needs). The output of 6V matches. And, the input range of 100-240V covers HK (and pretty much anywhere in the world). Congrats on the EH1.

Thanks for all the advice and I've used the Sony AC adapter without problems (or it seems at least).

BTW did you get the tracking number?

Yes, I did but only after I made a follow up enquiry to them after a few days. They took about 4 days to get the unit from the shop.

It's good to know that they are reliable ^_^ Another question, the bill (with the product price) was outside the shipping box? well I ask this because I could ask them to hide that info so I may avoid some taxes :P

Congratualtions on your EH1.

I thought I read somewhere that a DC6V 800mAmp charger would charge the battery a little bit faster than a DC6V 500mAmp charger. Anyone know if this is true ?

You are most welcome to utilize our "Gallery" and link those pictures within your new "pictorial." Or you could create a pictorial and attached the pictures accordingly. Otherwise, you could utilize photobucket.com as suggested by Stuge.

As for posting pictures, you may want to keep its size to 640x480. Looking forward to your new pictorial. ;)

anyway I change my order to the silver one

Hope you're not too disappointed that the "silver" EH1 is actually more of a dark grey. It's darker than the silver NH1. Have you tried Japan Direct? They still have the black EH1 for sale, for a price though.

Thanks. And oops, sometimes I have a hard time keeping track of who else is on that board. I included an extra one of the NH1/EH1 (the color difference is a little drastic in that pic though). The top pic is the more true-to-life one for all 3 units. Hope you don't have to wait too long for your EH1.

You'll find out soon enough that there is life beyond black. ;)

@ jaylen: Those are some nice pictures. :ok: Care to do a NH3D pictorial? That's one unit I need to acquire. ;)

Thanks, Ishiyoshi! Looking at all your pictorials (yep, I did look at ALL) has helped my photography skills a lot. I'll take some pics of the NH3D tomorrow during the day and post a pictorial. The camera flash and artificial light are terrible for taking pics of that particular unit. Going off of Tiesto's comment, once you get the NH3D, your poker hand will be a royal flush.

 @ Tiesto. Greedy is it!

Thanks for the kind comments. As for artificial lighting, you will need to compensate by adjusting your White Balance either manually or using those presets.

Aye! But don't forget to acquire the RH1.

lol I'm such an amateur photographer that I'm not even sure if my T7 can do that. You're making me re-read the user's manual now. :P

But don't forget to acquire the RH1.

Haha, tempter! The RH1 doesn't give me any functional benefit over my current units and I'm not too keen on its shape/styling; so after getting the EH1, I think I can say I'm officially done with "needing" any other MD unit. But, "wanting" is another matter. ;) Got my eye on the blue EH930.

I found one more pic showing a better comparison of the slight difference between the silver NH1 and EH1.

Very nice. We ought to have an annual MDCF meet someday. B)

Now there's an idea :ok:

@Jaylen - great pics indeed. It is funny how we say we "need" to acquire some of these units. I really "need" to acquire a red DH10P, blue NH3D and silver RH1 as well!

I've just taken some pictures but unfortunately the quality is just so-so and nowhere near the high quality of the unit posted by others. As there are already quite a lot of black EH1 pictures, I thought I just simply posted a few in this thread rather than starting a new one in the pictorial forum. Hope this is OK to the mod.
