coop2332
So my MZ-N505 finally broke down after years of abuse and am looking for pretty much anything to replace it with that costs less than $50. Theres one of ebay for $30 thats not too bad, so i may go with that. Since my MZ still plays ill probably just be using the new one for recording (no use in having two destroyed MD players). I basiccly just need a crappy thing till i get enough $$$ to buy one of those m100's that i like.

viiv
Hi, I'll sell you my Sony MZ-R50 if you want. Pretty good condition just some wear marks mostly on the bottom but still overall good condition. Made in Japan out of magnesium so build wise alot better than some of the newer but cheaper players. I mean if you want a strongly built player that you can beat, this is probably for you. I mean not only can you have it now until you get a new pricy unit but you can still use it after as your other player since you wont need to really care much about it. Comes with remote (which has wear ofcourse since it is subject to the elements) but comes with accessories originaly included like adaptor, external battery, headphones and digital optical cable and Sony RK-G129 analog mini to RCA splitter. It comes in its original box. Send me a PM if you like with an offer.http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-R50.html Edited July 19, 2006 by finalcoolman
Sparky191
IMO it would be best to get NH600 at this point. Well worth the extra.
A440
The NH600 only does Line-in recording. And be careful: the NH600D does not do real-time recording at all, only USB transfer.
Sparky191
Well I'd say the NH700 is the best cheap model, but it tends to be alot more expensive than the NH600. The NH600D is a great cheap and cheerful player only.
greenmachine
By the way, the title says you're looking for a player for more than 50$.
jaylen
As said by A440, the NH600D is a downloader only. Also, it cannot take a remote like the N505 can. And yeah, the title is a little off, but coop2332 clarified in the original post that the unit must cost less than $50.

Fat Tires
I used to think that the NH600 didn't have a remote port either. Sony's original product info stated that it didn't have one. According to real world user info, it does have a remote port.LINK

MDCF should update their equipment browser and ask people who actually have the unit to submit pictures instead of going off of Sony's prototypes (?). lol I'd hate to think a newbie is misled on several unit descriptions because of a link I gave to an incorrect or outdated MDCF equipment browser. http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH600D.html (It shows a blue and silver NH600 without remote plugs.) The Low Volta
haha... in a Belgian journal, there was this NH600 pictured with TWO headphone outs (well, they just pretended the line-in was one, but it still looks very funny if you're into MD a bit )PS: I'll try to find it again and scan it for everyone to have a laugh
