boojum
Wizards and regular folks, I have these three artists, Freak Mountain Ramblers, Michael Hurley, and Holy Modal Rounders all recorded live at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR. They are not studio quality, but they are good. How or where can I upload them to be shared as legal bootlegs with other folks. Dime gave me a really hard time over my first efforts at uploading them and banned me to the nether reaches of the universe. Thanks

Richard
When our Gallery is back online you can also upload them there.

Thanks for the info. I will see what they want and comply. Rock on!

boojum
All - OK, I have jumped through all the hoops I found on etree for U/L files. When I used their recommended torrent creator I get a "freller" error. Woohoo. Life is one long class. So, I am waiting for the etree gurus to tell me WTF a "freller" error is. In the meantime I am making it available as a "trackerless" collection of files through uTorrent. When etree gets me indoctrinated I will also post HMR and the other two on etree, and links here.I am re-recording Freak Mountain Ramblers from the PC WAV file through optical out on my sound card to opt-in on the RH1 and then putting in the track marks. Did this for HMR, and then learned that that TM should be just before the next tune starts and not half way between. A whole new vocabulary and syntax. Michael Hurley is doing a gig out here in town in the local upholstered sewer on the 26th and I would like to make that one. Very small venue, about the size of a living room so I could get in pretty close. I will use a mic stand this time, oh yeah.Cheers

Next time, I highly recommend you upload and convert to WAV one big file or large files if you happen to get any track marks and then use CD WAVE to make track marks. It will even save in FLAC format for you. Saves a lot of time and one of the best programs you can buy for $15 but it is shareware and unrestricted to try.I have had no trouble using bt.etree.org but I do like the archive's new upload features. good luck and welcome to the taper world. Please do me a favor and stop referring to your recordings as bootlegs. If a band allows the recording and you don't sell it, it's not a bootleg. Cool? boojum
Not a bootleg!! Sheesh, you're taking all the excitement out of my life. I have so cleaned up my act that most Mormons lead faster lives than I. I kind of liked that "illegal" aspect of recording. I was going to get a car and soup it up like crazy, put stolen plates on it, and then put the MD's in quart Mason jars and stash them in the trunk and drive fast as hell home with the headlights off. That was next. Now you tell me I can't do that??!! Woohoo! Why am I doing this taping then? Sheesh. You really want to spoil a guy's fun. ;o)Thanks, I was not aware of the subtle differences. These are legally recorded concert performances then. Phooey. ;o)Next time, I highly recommend you upload and convert to WAV one big file or large files if you happen to get any track marks and then use CD WAVE to make track marks. Cool?I made the track marks between songs as DaD was all over my ass because I did not have track marks on the HMR file I U/L'ed to them. Same with the other two performances. Nasty buggers they are.
