Sony_Fan
I just transfered a CD from the 90's that is lower in volume than those of today using ATRAC3plus 192. It sounds as clear as the CD source. This is because the CD has no distortion. I tried doing the same with a CD I bought last year which is louder and transferred it at the same bitrate and you hear distortion. Someone please, develope an ATRACgain software that's as easy and effective as MP3gain.
Sparky191
Would Volume leveling on the player not achieve the same thing?
pata2001
Use MP3, simple.
Sony_Fan
Would Volume leveling on the player not achieve the same thing?I'm talking about music transferred through SonicStage. My g/f has an iPod and I use MP3gain to normalize all her music. I would do the same, but the RH10 is a terrible MP3 player. Thus, we need ATRACgain software to normalize music before it is transferred to hi-md.Use MP3, simple. MP3 playback is horrible on the RH10, even after EQ settings are changed. ATRACgain is what we need.
Richard
MP3 playback is horrible on the RH10, even after EQ settings are changed. ATRACgain is what we need.Either that or an RH1 with it's improved MP3 playback SQ & Dynamic Normalizer function.

mdmania
Don't pressure me into getting an RH1 This feature (Dynamic Normalizer) is one of the reason why I bought the RH1 other than its upload capability. Now, it would be even cool if Sony can incorporate this feature to their portable CD player I would get one in a heart beat. I'm also a huge fan of MP3gain. I have been using MP3gain for about several years now since I learn about it and I love music even more. I am also a huge fan of crossfading (don't mean to go off a subject) but this is also a reason why I installed Rockbox on my iPod. Now I have both feature on my iPod 40gb/Nano 2gb and really enjoying listening to music more than ever.
pata2001
MP3 playback is horrible on the RH10, even after EQ settings are changed. ATRACgain is what we need. You can wait forever till somebody develop that kind of program, or get the RH1(or any MP3 players that can play MP3s properly) and start enjoying your music.
