Ishiyoshi
Sony BASIC Like the NEIGE, the BASIC series comes in just one simple scheme: clear shell with green lettering; available in 74min and 80min.
bland10000
What year were these, Ishi?
tekdroid
one of the better transparent designs, IMO. Packaging is quite fresh, too. I like the unpainted shutter.

Sparda
Hmm, if only they made new Hi-MD discs, I would buy some for sure. Nice pics btw.
bland10000
Yep, 2006. Saw them in Daiso this evening, the 74 and 80 minute version...I knew they looked familiar.

I didn't see the 80min version when I acquired the Basic series from Daiso last year.
Sparda
TDK makes the discs for Daiso right? Or did I remember wrong.
Ishiyoshi
TDK makes the discs for Daiso right? Or did I remember wrong. It depends on the series - some of Daiso's MD discs were produced by Saehan from Korea.
jaylen
Eye-catching pictorial, as usual, Ishi. lol I'll have to say I do like the disc better when wrapped though.
Karl Myer
The sight of those Basic MD's will make obvious how scratch- and smudge-free is the storage media holding your data even after years. No CD is so clean after its first handling.
Sparda
I like how they wrap up the discs so well, it almost makes it delicious enough to eat. And then with the fancy writing and pictures and all that colour makes you just want to buy some more discs. What would be cooler is if they had made discs with the shell made out of brushed aluminum, it would look beautiful and classy. I would buy a pack of 10 regardless of price.

bland10000
The discs currently offered at Daiso stores around Tokyo are the Sony Basic and Clip series. They released a new set of Cutipops and Circle last fall but haven't put out the entire line of colors yet; still waiting for Cutipop grey and Circle green and brown.
