0 bogon07
Similarly Sony Australia still has the A3000 on the site but has been out of stock for ages. Is Sony building up numbers for USA now that they've patched ConnectPlayer again ?
0 Ascariss
Not good at all, unless a new 20 gig or 30 gig player is coming to replace it.
0 maggior
I've been itching for the A3000 to show up here in the US. It disappearing from the Canadian market doesn't bode too well for it showing up here. Whether they finally release the A3000 in the US or another model, I don't care - just release something here! Or let us know that you won't so I can just buy something off EBay. I'm building up a nicely sized music library in SS that I'm currently listening to using my MZ-RH910. The 910 is a great unit, but I can only carry around 1GB per disc. How can Sony go this long with no HDD based DAP for the US market!!!I'm hoping the fact that they released an update to the Connect player means we may see something announced soon.Rich

When they are out of stock it becomes "next in-line" meaning they accept orders while it is back ordered, it is never taken off the site. They never remove something from the site when it is just out of stock. When something is removed it means it has been sold out on SonyStyle and DISCONTINUED by Sony Canada. 0 MDX-400
Wow I guess that might mean it is "curtains" for the A3000 then eh? Probably not going to be US release then I'd imagine. I guess Sony must have a replacement ready to launch?

0 Ascariss
Hmm, checking out the sony style UK site for sonystyle, I see only 1 HDD player, the 6 gig one. not 20 gig and as well the new NW-E005 is on sale already, shipping late april.so maybe sony will release a new 20 or 30 gig playe soon. 0 MDX-400
^That's interesting that they only have the A1000 listed there now...I'm betting the A1000 sells better. However, in Canada, if that's the case, Sony brought that on themselves. The retards at Sony Canada decided not to sell the A3000 in stores but only on SonyStyle.ca. Therefore anyone walking into Best Lie or Futile Shop might not even know that there was an A3000; only the 6GB A1000. Good one Sony. Hey let's not sell this through any retail outlets and then when it doesn't sell well, let's discontinue it and cite poor sales

Therefore anyone walking into Best Lie or Futile Shop might not even know that there was an A3000; only the 6GB A1000. Tell me about. I just dropped by Best Buy (Montreal Marché Central)... they had three A1000s on display (blue-green, purple, pink) and... an NW-HD1 for 249$.Hell, I'd be very tempted to get that if I were in the store. NW-A1000: 6GB; 249$.NW-HD1: 20GB: 249$.Even if the A3000 were available there, it would cost more than the HD1. Of course one plays mp3 and WMA natively, the other doesn't, but it would be tempting nonetheless. If Best Buy still have HD1s in stock, it's no wonder Sony didn't try launching another 20GB player on the mass market.

You guys all seem to love it and it will more than fit my needs, so I went for it. Hopefully I'll have it in a week. It comes with a 90 day warranty from Sony, so if there are any problems, off it will go back to them.I wonder how much DAP business Sony is losing in the US since it has no hard disc based units for sale here...So, in a week I'll be adding another ATRAC device to my device list Cheers!Rich
