Is there a way to convert a DVD video to a mini disc LPCM signal?

I have a music DVD, in which 1 of the song is a live performance, and I want that song to go to my Hi MD in LPCM recording.

My DVD recorder is a Pioneer that has digital audio output, I also have another DVD player that has a fiber optic output, w/ either players, how do you do it?

I would take a look at besweet, if I were you.

You need a 5.1 to stereo conversation. Many audio card can do that (check your settings) or like Stephen said, use a software able to do it. Besweet or Winamp, foobar2000 with the right audio convertissor plugin.

So there is no way to do it with my stereo equipment? What happens if I play the music DVD and record on my minidisc, what signal will I get?

just set your dvd player with the optical out to 2channel stereo pcm output. and just hook it up to your md.

Why did you rip your DVD in MP3 before burning the CD audio ? Don't you have any WAV or lossless option ?

I rip everything to a 24 bit 48khz file, then compress from those: AAL, MP3, CDDA. You are correct in suggesting wav or lossless, just wouldn't make sense to do it the other way around, in any language
